Portsmouth have signed Millwall midfielder Therry Racon, free agent John Akinde and Stevenage striker Patrick Agyemang on loan. Striker Akinde, 23, was released by Crawley at the end of last month. Ghana international striker Agyemang joined Stevenage last summer, but has failed to score in 16 appearances this season. Racon, 28, had made just one league appearance for Millwall this season, having begun his career at Charlton. He also had a spell on loan at Brighton before signing for Millwall on a free transfer in June 2011. "We think Therry is a gifted player and a really nice guy," Pompey caretaker manager Guy Whittingham told BBC Radio Solent. "He has good ability on the ball and will drive us forward."
Agyemang looks a good player, but he doesn't, unfortunately, look prolific: 1998–2004 Wimbledon 120 (20) 1999–2000 → Brentford (loan) 12 (0) 2004 Gillingham 33 (8) 2004–2008 Preston North End 122 (21) 2008–2012 Queens Park Rangers 75 (16) 2010 → Bristol City (loan) 7 (0) 2011 → Millwall (loan) 2 (0) 2012 → Stevenage (loan) 0 (0) 2012– Stevenage 14 (0) 2013- → Portsmouth (loan) Do I have permission to change your thread to "Woopert's Tranfer Rumour Thread Part I", Woops? It would fit in with the title I give my transfer news threads!
Can't we just say "**** it", decide on a squad and stick to it, only replacing people as and when they choose to leave of their own accord but otherwise, keep the same players no matter how rubbish they are, as then just maybe, they might start to gel.
Thanks for the heads up, we kind of expect that the players we get are the ones everyone does not want so they are probably poor. We are in a pretty sad state now just looking forward to Div 2 and a derby with Torquay
Akinde did well at his first loan spell at Wycombe so there is a good player in there somewhere. Whether or not you can get it out of him remains to be seen. Good luck guys, I really hope you stay up
Frankie Sutherland has returned to QPR a few days early to end his loan spell. Didn't get much of a chance to impress, did he ? Who are we bringing in next I wonder ? Will it be Alassane N'Diaye, the giant 6' 5" French Senegalese midfielder we recently had on trial ? Guy seemed to like the look of him whilst he was with us.
