Absolutely appalled by Woodgates attitude not to take a very generous pay-as-you-play contract.
Does he not think in any way he should give something back to the club who took a gamble on an already crocked player and then paid him £40k a week to be injured for three years.
Absolutely shameful.

Another poster in another article made a very valid point earlier.

Effectively, he said that the contract would not be a good move for him as he wouldn't be part of the 25 man squad, so he wouldn't get paid until at least January.
why would he want to agree to that?

Fair enough, was hoping he would have considered the fact he has been paid for doing nothing for the last 1000 days though.
Shame. On his day there was few better

Reminds me of this - http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/may/17/oguchi-onyewu-milan-free

In short, having spent close to a year on the injury table, he asked Milan to give him a 12 month extension so they could (hopefully) benefit from 2 years playing time, what he hoped to have achieved with the original contract. He would get 2 years pay from the original contract and give them a year with no pay as a thankful gesture for sticking by him.
