I don't normally post this sort of article but this made me think of my children. Please God help us all. The Darkley Massacre â 30 Years On Anyone living in South Armagh should feel safe from threat, especially within the sanctity of a place of worship. However this has not been the case within South Armagh as demonstrated on Sunday, 20th November 1983. On this day terrorists calling themselves South Armagh Republican Action Force entered Mountain Lodge Pentecostal Church, a church situated on a hill just two miles from the predominantly Catholic village of Darkley, not far from the border with Monaghan and close to Keady and murdered three church elders who were attending Sunday worship in their church. The men who were murdered were 44-year-old David Wilson, 59-year-old Harold Brown and 39-year-old Victor Cunningham. They were all married with children. All protestant. This murder shocked the world and showed that nothing is sacred in the eyes of the Irish Republicans of South Armagh. The church was filled with men, women and children who at this time every Sunday evening came together to pray and give thanksgiving to God. As the congregation broke into singing the first hymn, two gunmen opened fire on the congregation killing three elders at the doorway who were warmly welcoming people to the service. Pandemonium followed instantly. The killers calmly stepped over the bloodstained helpless bodies already cut down and began firing at the congregation of mainly defenceless women and children. Fathers dived over their young children, and one man covered a 7 month old baby, such was the indiscriminate nature of the attack. Children were screaming hysterically calling for their mothers and fathers who were lying among the upturned pews, prayer books and Bibles. All begged and pleaded for mercy as the gunmen stepped through the bodies and made their way outside. Such was their murderous intent that they reloaded their guns and sprayed the exterior of the wooden hall before cowardly disappearing into rural landscape. Three dead, seven injured, how can anyone even try to justify such an attack on God's people. Thirty years on, however, and many tears have been shed by the people of the village of Darkley as the harrowing memories of that day continue to linger, possibly made more bitter by the fact that no one has yet been brought to justice over the murders.
No worries Barrie. I like to think of myself as a fine upstanding citizen and abhorr indiscriminate violence. In fact violence of any kind actaually. These dirty fenians need to be taught respect. And I would say the same thing about some innocent god fearing protestant that got himself embroiled in some sort of massacre through no fault of his own. I am nothing if not impartial and fair to one and all.

China has more "Protestants" than Western Europe now and is the fastest growing 'religion' in China. Hence the unbelievable economic growth and the huge tilt in wealth to the East and the lack of ripped anal passages within the youth.
