I'm not going to go through the events of last nights match in words - I don't have possession of enough superlatives to do the teams credit - but what I will say is that was a cracking game between two committed teams, playing for their respective managers, who both decided gung-ho was the best way to get three points.

I didn't go to the match but watched it on a feed and I never sat down once in the second half - I simply couldn't get my backside close enough to the leather on my chair before something else would have me leaping or ducking in joy or in fright!

A magnificent goal from Surman was the highlight but you have to give credit to both sets of players. Our forwards gave them a torrid time at the back, running the channels and playing at such a high tempo. Best match of football I've seen anywhere this season. Enthralling.

And most importantly, another point towards safety! Unbeaten in three, 5 points from our last 9 featuring two tricky away games... if we can pick up three points minimum from our next two home games then we will head into the new year on at least 24 points and I think we would all have taken that before the start of the season.

On another thread someone posted that we are 6 points ahead of where we were last time, another way of looking at it is by 32 games we were on 20 points. I can actually only see the team getting better over the rest of the season, as we are still learning and developing. With potential strength being added in January, I really don't see any problems in staying up especially as I think 36 points could well be enough.

its frightening to think we only had 20 points after 32 games last time! we've got 21 from 17 this season!! for me its all down to the attitude of the manager. worthington took the approach that we were just happy to be here. lambert probably doesn't consider relegation as an option! personally i don't feel there is much difference in quality and talent of the players, but this is a proper team under a proper manager. last time we relied on huckerby to an extent and later on ashton; now we have a collective where if one player is missing another can step straight in. its difficult not to be proud of them all <ok>

I agree that there is minimal difference between the two teams in terms of the quality of individual players, but that we have played above the sum of our parts for the llast 2 1/2 seasons. But, instilling confidence in the players has harnessed the potential of the players to a phenomenol extent and all are still improving I imagine that under worthington, very few players actually ever reached their full potential.

Spot on. You don't have to have 22 foreigners on the pitch to make it a good game. That was as exciting as it comes. Goal attempts, good saves, at a good pace. If we have another 21 of them this season I shall be absolutely delighted.

Was at the match last night and i have to say that when we got back to the bar afterwards I was emotionally drained. It was such a roller coaster game what with going ahead then losing the lead and then the offside goal.

It must have been a cracking game for the neutral.Another great performance, only disappointing thing to say is we should have gone 2-0 up when Morrison headed straight to their keeper and that would have been game over in my eyes.

Just got to say this.A cold Tuesday night, middle of December and 5 days before Crimbo and a bloody long drive, there we were,2,500 City fans giving it large.BLOODY BRILLIANT!!

We might be on first tonight due to time taken to edit footage etc. And there is a lot of highlights from last nights game, brilliant advert for premier league and well done to both managers.

We weren't even in the order of games <doh>

That was me about the amount of points... We also had to wait till our 34th game for our 5th win of the season, coincidentally against the toon! 3 points out the next 2 and as were at home maybe even 4 is a possibility and I will be a happy bunny!
