Woman dies doing the London Marathon

    Claire Squires collapsed on the final stretch of the London Marathon, paramedics attended to here but she died at the scene. Such a tragic loss of life to a inspirational young woman who did a lot of good in world.

    Claire was competing in the London Marathon to raise money for her charity, the Samaritans

    Claire wrote on donation page "hi guys as you all know i am running the london marathon it was just going to be for fun. but its a fab opportunity to raise money for my charity the samaritans if everyone i know could donate £5.00 that would be a great help and change lives."

    I remember the organisers came in for a **** load of criticism for not having adequate water stations and emergency medical aid. It could have been worse, the Great North Run is only a half-marathon.

    How do you know? Some ****s I used to work for tried to press-gang me into doing a parachute jump. I told them to go **** themselves. Good job I did, my chute could have got tangled and I may have plummeted 10,000 feet to the ground <splat>

    Seriously though, I don't see why they can't shorten the run if people call for it, the fact we have deaths shows some people are at risk. And some people may feel under pressure to finish the course when they are at risk.

    Part of the problem was that the horses weren't even asked

    <reward for being a good runner is you get to stud 3,000 fillies>
