Match facts Wolves have not lost a home match against Bristol City in any competition since March 1931, a run of 23 games without defeat. The Robins have not kept a clean sheet in a league match at Molineux since December 1992, since when they have conceded on nine consecutive visits. Wolves have kept a clean sheet in five of their last seven league matches, conceding twice in each of the other two matches. Since they were promoted to the Championship in 2015, Bristol City are yet to win away from home on a Tuesday. Time we put this run to bed ? Although I cant see it personally.
Wolves have started this season pretty tasty, and have used a huge amount of money, coupled with contacts (Super agent Jorge Mendes I believe) to sign players who otherwise wouldn't dream of playing in the 2nd tier anywhere. The odds are really against us, so a draw would be a good result - shame we don't have Pisano available, otherwise, we should be largely full strength. I expect a possession % somewhere near 30% for us, but if we're set up right to hit them on the counter, I wouldn't care one iota. COYR!
We beat Reading on their patch against the odds - they hadn't lost at the Madjeski for some time, so its not unthinkable that we might come back from the black country with something. Besides - I am playing 5-a-side on Wednesday with a Wolves fan and I want an excuse to rip into him!
Given our record at Molyneux, if we can get anything at Woofs then I will start to think that maybe LJ is the answer....!
LOL - Last time I was there I got caught in a hailstorm and watched El Abd get tackled by a puddle!! On LJ - I still don't think he is the answer - but I am happy to be proved wrong - we have done worse (as I posted on another thread) given the dross we have had over the years. Yes he has had a lot of money - but I don't care tbh - he has had a lot less than some clubs have spent - look at Villa for example - right now just hovering above the drop!
Bloody hell bcfc; this was one thread where we weren't talking about LJ and now it's ruined! - it's like Groundhog Day!
I'm personally not one for records like that - how the likes of Tinnion and Murray did against them nigh on 20 years ago seems to me to have bugger all to do with how the current crops will fair! ...That said, I think it'd be a cracking result if we can get anything from this. Reports that the conditions could be pretty rough, which maybe is better news for us than them? Flint up for a corner could be a strong possible opportunity to score...
That's true actually - Angelic, for shame! ...We might need to introduce a Voldemort style 'He Who Must Not Be Named' rule, or month long armistice, just to give us all some respite.
Hey guys - a quote from the Wolvesblog forum for you about your game............... "john Payne says: September 11, 2017 at 5:32 PM (Quote) Bristol City seem to be a good footballing side – none of that Cardiff or Millwall rough stuff, so our very good new team should be able to outplay them. A 3-0 will come soon I’m sure."
well angelic .your stats paint a pretty grim picture ... HOWEVER... last season CITY 3 WOLVES 1 leading 2-0 at half time WOLVES 3 CITY 2 leading 2-1 at halftime, but it was the 5th game in our losing streak! Wolves have though spent a lot of money this season and the MENDES guy owns a 5% share in the club!!!!! I would be over the moon with a draw ...............
I always like it when someone puts themselves up on a pedestal like that - had a handful of Reading fans saying they were going to beat us by 3 or 4.
Nick - apart from the forecast result, it was the "Cardiff and Millwall rough stuff" that got me. The Wolves fans are the most ludicrously biased this season - they think they're Gods' gift to the Championship with their new manager and foriegn imports.
