Strange appointment in my eyes. No real English experience and failed at Cologne. Bruce and Curbishley interviewed and passed over. Presume a lack of transfer funds an issue.

Not sure about stale, but things are definitely stagnant at Wolves at the moment. Why did they sack Mick, so very strange?

It's a risk. He'll certainly change their style of football.

I have a funny feeling that it will work out for Wolves and this could prove to be a very good appointment.

    Or...it will be a disaster.

He won 5 league titles with Cophenhagen, before he joined Cologne. He has even managered in the Champions League, so he has experience.

I think he will do ok. It's going to be a tough place to walk into but I think Wolves will be promotion candidates next season, certainly much more than Blackburn.

I'm almost certain he'll be better than Connor, but then I would be.

I think he'll be one of the league's most entertaining managers - may well be either terrific or terrible! Seems to speak his mind and has done well enough to be considered for the Norway job. Will be an interesting time for Wolves (as always)

Poortvliet comparisons are a bit much. This guy's been managing in the Bundesliga.

Agree. The board were meddling in first team activities but didn't give him the heave-ho until they went down.

I remember them saying one day Solbakken arrived at training to see three new players. None of which he had asked for the board to sign.

He likes to play expansive, passing football utilising the wings. He was trying to make FC Cologne a more attractive footballing side and it upset certain players and took time.

I wish him luck and hope it all works out for him! (will be someone to look out for)
