No this is not some sex tale from weekend. Papiss Cisse has been withdrawn from the international squad because of injury. Pards reckon him, Demba, Cabaye and Cheik will all be fine for Sunday despite all picking up knocks. Another bonus.

Would you start him and Demba or play it safe by adding in Guthrie/Benni to midfield?

Yes, "injury". Nice one Pards, taking a leaf out of Fergie's book. It's great that he's an international but flying round the world to play a friendly just two weeks after he's got back from the ACoN is too much.

I reckon start with both Dembas. Go for it. If we sit back like on saturday then we'll get a pounding, or the crowd will get frustrated and the players'll start to get nervy.

No doubt he'll have picked up an "injury" too. I think they'll lose him at the end of the season.

Don't think Guthrie or HBA did their chances of starting the game any good on Saturday.

Nope both were sloppy in possession. I just wonder whether Pards might start Guthrie and keep Cisse and Benni back for tired legs. It will be frenetic start as usual.

Yeah, I reckon HBA running at their full backs in the last 30 mins could cause caos for them. I definately think HBA's best role in this game will be as an impact sub. His biggest problem is what to do about shola.

Personally I think the "injuries" might be a bit of mind games on Pardew's part, keeping the Sunderland lot guessing to what our lineup will be on Sunday.

As for my opinion on the lineup I dont want HBA or Guthrie anywhere near the starting lineup, particularly Guthrie who's 30 mins at the weekend were all too similar to a certain Alan Smith. Of course I want to see Guthrie back in the team as hes a canny player, just not against the mackems, not worth the risk in case he puts in another performance like Wolves.

As for HBA if we're losing he should come on late on BUT I dont want him starting, derbies are often played at high tempo and with a lot of counter attacks, we cant have HBA giving the ball away constantly like he did against Wolves and helping them to counter easier. Not to mention we need a grafter and a tackler. Raylor isn't the best in the tackle but hes not scared to get stuck in if he needs to and tracks back better. He should start Right mid IMO.

Pardew will sick with the same team we put out against Wolves.
Guthrie and HBA were very sloppy but could come on and make and impact as could Shola.

Take him round the back and put him down? Seriously though I bet he is half tempted to take a chance on a Shola going day. I hope not.

Reading a report yesterday Cisse was withdrawn from the Senegal friendly with a slight hamstring strain but should be fit for Sunday.

BUT I've just read that Tiote has now been called up for a pointless friendly in Abidjan against Guinea FFS.

They were talking about it on Talk Sport Last night and there are a lot more Sunderland players out on international duty than there are NUFC (3 or 4 first team players in total) Sess has a competitive qualification match to play in Ethiopia all others are friendlies.

Hopefully Sessgnon will get booted from pillar to post then. The Ethiopians will be hungry for a win.

    Couldn't resist.
