I've just been through the predictor twice http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/eng_div_1/predictor/default.stm

with the blue tinted specs on and off.

Here are the two bottom sixes:

    With 'em:

    19....Millwall..........50
    20....Nottm For......48
    21....POMPEY.........45
    ----------------------
    22....Bristol City.....43
    23....Coventry........42
    24....Doncaster.......39

    and without 'em

    19....Millwall...........51
    20....Nottm For.......49
    21....Bristol City......46
    ----------------------
    22....Coventry........45
    23....POMPEY.........39
    24....Doncaster......39

What tables to you come up with?

Went with no specs of any colour just gut feel -

    19....Notts Frst..........47
    20....Millwall......45
    21....POMPEY.........40
    ----------------------
    22....Bristol City.....40
    23....Coventry........39
    24....Doncaster.......36

And for the top as a matter of no real interest to us -

    1 Stripes .......91
    2 Hammers.....87
    3 Reading......85
    4 Blackpool....77
    5 Cardiff........77
    6 Brum.......... 73

with Boro missing out on GD.

Who knows what'll happen but either way the fat lady is walking to the warm up room. PUP

I prefer the "with them" and the "gut feel" position - but Appy is going to have to find out why the team sometimes turns up to games and other times it doesn't. The same thing happened under Cotterill (and he kept making excuses for the players). Now we have different players but the same thing happens (and Appy makes no excuses) - but what is the common denominator? It has happened too many times just to be a coincidence.

..........and why do we always appear to wait until the second half, before we start to perform ?..............

Again - all last year under Cotterill it was the same. Maybe something to do with whatever training/warming up regime?

Shortly after every-one got their breath back, following a scintillating South Coast Derby, a certain lardy female scoffed another pasty (to hell with the 17% expense) and scribbled some-thing on a song sheet, as Bristol City won at Nottingham Forest.
This means we are six points from safety with 5 games to go.

So how many points will Pompey get from the final five games - and will it be enough?

    Millwall - H
    Doncaster - A
    Crystal Pal - H
    Derby - H
    Forest - A

    Meanwhile,

    Coventry have got
    Bristol City - A
    Burnley - A
    Millwall - H
    Doncaster - H
    Saints - A

    Bristol City have got
    Coventry - H
    Birmingham - A
    West Ham - H
    Barnsley - H
    Burnley - A

When you see it like that Dev, it looks bad. We have to win at least 4 and hope.

Well, you have the easiest run-in really, but have you left it too late? I think if you get a result today then you have a shot. Lose today, and if there is a winner from the Bristol-Coventry then I fear it is going to be very difficult.

I have merged the two threads as I've just tried the predictor again for the final five games; again with the blue tinted specs and without them.

These are the two tables I come up with now....

    19..Millwall......47
    20..Forest.......47
    21..POMPEY.....46
    -----------------
    22..Bristol C.....46
    23..Coventry....45
    24..Doncaster...36

    or

    19..Millwall......49
    20..Forest......48
    21..Coventry...47
    -----------------
    22..Bristol C.....44
    23..POMPEY.....40
    24..Doncaster...37

Oh dear ! With both Bristol City and Nottm. Forest winning today, we really MUST beat Millwall Tuesday night.

It's getting more and more difficult :emoticon-0106-cryin

With the battling qualities you showed on Saturday I am sure you will not go down without a fight. It is looking a bit bleak for you guys though.

Rubbish, play their hearts out to get a last minute draw at ours, then capitulate against Millwall. You wait & see, its happened so many times this season. Teams raise their game against us. Still, its good practice for us.

To be fair, if we play crap against Millwall it will just be continuing the pattern of the last few weeks. We were good against Birmingham, crap against Coventry, good against Hull, crap against Burnley. The Southampton game was the upshot - it was bound to be no matter what - but it was hardly a one off performance. We've been consistantly switching from good form one game to bad the next for a while.

I predict a certain win tomorrow night. We have been unbeatable lately, in evening fixtures at FP. 2 or 3 nil will be the order of the day.

Wins for Bristol City and Nottingham Forest yesterday have left us staring down the barrel like a little Easter Bunny Rabbit caught in the car headlights.

If we don't win tonight we could be relegated on Saturday!

We're done and dusted guys. Bristol and Bunrley at home and Cov away have cost us dearly. We're just not consistent enough and very goal shy. Considering what's been occuring this season, I'm a little suprised we're still in with a dogs chance.

At least our pride is intact and we can hold our heads up high after last Saturdays performance. So much for all the talk beforehand- how many were they going to score? I wish we could play them every week <laugh>
