Right, seeing as Anton has gone I am going to have a look at our CB options. Please argue against me, and discuss: Centre Backs: Brown: I think everyone will agree that he is first choice CB now. He can pass, is a calm, has pace and very strong. No other option but to start him. Turner: Now everyone seems to be slating him, and does not like him. Knowingly Turner is not the BEST passer in the world, in fact can he pass? other than hoofing it up. However Turner is strong in the air, strong against forwards. He would partner Brown in my defence. Bramble: While people raved for him last season, I was never overly impressed, and I prefer Anton TBH. Bramble, like Anton is prone to mistakes. He is clumsy, cannot run. Granted he is strong like Turner, but he would be my 3rd choice (behind O'shea). The R/B and L/B spot are sorted so no point discussing that. So my CB pairing now that Anton is gone is Turner----Brown I now think though we are a little thing on the CB choices, as Laing is not ready. I think he needs to go out on loan.
If Anton had to go to bring in a foward - would you say we had to make the sacrifce? I think we have enough cover at the back without Anton (would have prefered to keep him) but take Bendtnar out of the attack and we were really struggling (I know he hasn't kicked a ball yet but I feel muvh happier having him in. I'd probably go bramble before turner
I'd probably go for Turner and Brown in the centre. It's a tough one between Turner and Bramble, but i've always liked Turner. It's probably going to be who's in the best shape between the two.
To me there isn't really much to choose between Turner and Bramble. Turner would possibly just shade it due to less gaff's but I personally feel both should be moved on when quality replacements are bought. Turner is too slow and doesn't read the game well enough for this lack of pace and Bramble is just Bramble, brilliant or bollox, never really any inbetween with the fella.
