Being linked with another French nobody I see. Toulouse forward Wissam Ben Yedder could very well exit the Ligue 1 outfit in the ongoing transfer window, as manager Dominique Arribage admitted that “there is a possibility” that the player could leave. Ben Yedder scored 14 goals in 36 league appearances last season and attracted interest from various Premier League clubs such as Spurs & West Ham. But it seems there could be something brewing between the French striker and Newcastle United, as the most recent accounts followed by the Wissam Ben Yedder on Twitter seems to be all Newcastle personnel. Specifically, the Toulouse striker followed the accounts of Adam Armstrong, Rolando Aarons & Florian Thauvin on the microblogging site. Bolllocks!! .
Its about time the club caught up with other clubs and bought Penfold an up to date copy of Football Manager. The poor soul must despair at having to use FM13 and being so far behind the times.
He is shocking. I have seen him a few times. He's a poor player in a very poor Toulouse side. If we are watching him then someone really needs to have a word. This guy is not a PL standard player.
Had a decent/average rep a couple of years ago, but I think that was more to do with his name similarity to Ben Arfa and Benzema. Love the initial story, though..... "He scored some goals, Spurs and West Ham had a look, neither bothered because it turns out the French league is garbage. Even all the money at Monaco can't buy decent players and the best player in the entire league is 47-year old Ibrahimovic. Newcastle, however, remain keen on Ben Yedder and are hopeful he suffers an ACL injury soon to really reduce the price. It's rumoured Graham Carr particularly likes the Saucisson and Crepes in Toulouse." It's all such a shame. I mean, NUFC gives Ashley this monumental advertising platform - you'd think he'd feel at least a tiny bit obliged to give a little something back. A competent MD perhaps. Or a progressive manager with some say in player recruitment. It's not a lot to ask, even.
Quite possibly the most tenuous link ever... Meantime, Lionel Messi was seen reading a copy of The Viz in a Beachfront Cafe down Whitley Bay.. When asked if there was anything in the rumors of his impending transfer to Newcastle, he simply replied 'Why Aye Man'.
I really don't get why we don't just go get Charlie Austin, if we are capable of putting crosses in but can't finish it get a player who has done it in the PL, by the time we hit the end of this season the club will have wasted over £30 million on Riviere and Mitrovic with transfer fees and wages, add Cabella and Thauvin to that and it will be over £60 million, for that sort of money we could have had Cabaye and Lukaku but no Carr knows best and Tufty aint got a clue.
