Whatever your tipple of choice Double G & T, Sangria, Vino Plonko, Cherry Brandy...yuk..Plum licquer(!), triple scotch, Fizz & sparkly (hugely over-rated IMO), I wish you all on this happiest and most entertaining of forums, a very Happy Xmas, lots of Good Cheering ( esp in W London), and a Bright Ambitious New Year! Can we really stay up there and keep up this amazing promotion push? - Yes, you bet...not for the faint-hearted, is it? But we are enjoying that rare thing for a football fan...a season of relentless joy, delight, surprise, tinged with the usual sporting idiocy and throwing of matches. And I think we can all agree with the massive of respect for MM and his awesome pennywarth team who, tho not blessed with dazzling premier skills, are playing out of their skins and giving it their best shot. Much enjoyed the Plough and chatting away with TB, and yes, would be good to meet up again when we all can. Proper pub, and lovely slurp of Adnams...hoorah! Never will drink that so-called beer at the ground. Great match too, what an atmosphere! Excellent attacking, fluent 1st half....memorable stunningly taken goals...what is Murph on ffs? Tho scrappy 2nd half, and conceded too much territory with forced changes, lost our shape and allowed Boro to play around for a spell. But still only 1 shot on target! Dids casually awesome as ever, deserved 2 scores but final silky touches eluded him, Tabby, my goodness, doesnt he cover the park? Terrific, was everywhere, and what a flying poached header! Parr grew in stature and put across many decent crosses...and got back. A really good stand-in for Mings...not fussed if he holds his place and squad now accept necessary rotation in busy hectic schedule. Ando gets better and better...almost cheeky the way he chipped up and overs to Murph and Dids. Tommy and whole defence another very strong backs to wall at times display. Skuse.....have to admit he surprised me with some fine forward passes..threaded to Dids & Murph...you read that right....forward!! And he busied about back tackling which I like. When injured I breathed a huge sigh of relief, as of course, I kept me hair, beard and all still in one piece! (So no dodgy photo shots reqd thanks!) Bru I like. Showed natural pace and strength. Moves up well in attack and gets movement across the front. Teddy, well what more can one say? Utterly brilliant game, such a talent. Only 18 ffs, I was playing for Storrington , Sussex 2nd XI at that age! My MOM, as he helped make both goals. Hope MM continues to start him...and even Bru from the off. Tabb, Bru Bish a pretty darn good middle...while the others are out. Ambrose...fleeting token appearance, flattered to deceive, one good shot from about 20m, served a purpose...just. Is he the same man? Or am I getting long in the tooth? So, farewell 2014, and look forward to sharing all your posts, thoughts, great insights, much appreciated reports and of course, polite rants and raves...especially nice to see several newbies to 'our club'. gotta be Adnams thats me dancing the Tango on NYEve!
Alright you two Lovebirds! Just re-reading your lower strapline, Warky......we may just be leaving the grey dark mists of mid table obscurity....lets hope!
Merry Christmas one and all..! I must say the atmosphere on this board has been better of late, for me the best thing of all is some of the new posters getting involved rather than just browsing....keep it up.
Yeah what on earth has happened to Spanish? No doubt should we lose to Brentford he'll be back Have a great one everyone
You know the cycle Westy. Spanish winds everyone up, everyone gets on his back about it and he takes a break. He'll be back at some point no doubt, it's been like this for years To be fair to Spanish he was being single out a bit and I don't blame him exclusively, he was called out a lot.
This season even after defeat Spanish has been a lot more reasonable, but you can guarantee after our next loss he'll come on............ Started a ridiculous Skuse thread - who has been immense of late.
It is funny how some people see players differently, I personally think that Skuse is the weak link in the team and when Hyam is fit, I would rather see him in the holding midfield role. Merry Christmas fellow Town fans.
Merry Christmas Ipswich 606ers I can quite honestly say you all seem like a good bunch on here and we certainly missed your rivalry the last 3 seasons. Here's hoping we both go up next year.
Surprisingly good number of fresh faces....all to the good! You must try the Plough another time Hoppers, you can have a proper chat and watch our feathered friends being gifted 2 easy goals!
