As unlikely as it seems I am still hopefull of the playoffs. Lets hope blackpool and cardiff slip up in these last two games and we can capitalise. Obviously this optimism will only last till saturday but while theres still a chance....

Optimistic is one thing but you do realise how badly Cardiff would have to slip up for us to get there?
Plus, let's be honest, there's no way in hell we're getting 6 points from our last two games <laugh>

I wouldn't say 6 points in the next 2 games is out of the question, but I can't see Cardiff or Blackpool slipping up.

It's also not out of the question that we'll get 0 points! <laugh> They're both winnable games, we'll be going to West Ham at a good time providing Southanpton take the last automatic spot this weekend. Mind you, I thought Pompey, Cov and Millwall were winnable games too :emoticon-0120-doh:

I'm willing to bet that everyone on this forum (no matter how realistic they are) secretly wonder if it could still happen.
Face it if we win on Saturday the first result you'll all be looking for is Cardiff's.

Nah, Blackpool is the only result to look for at 5pm Saturday. We'll all already know Cardiff's because they're playing Red Card United at lunch time, and M'boro aren't playing Southampton til 5.20pm.

The mathematics of it are too grim though. It's a 10 goal swing, so you're talking about 2 or 3 goal margins in our victories and their defeats.

Yeah I'll admit that's definitely me. Also Leicester though because I feel we really ought to finish above them.

You're critisising Fryatt after a hattrick?
And for ****s sake, "Fryup" really? What are you, 6?

I'm starting to think you're actually ****ed in the head. Their goal difference is 9 better than ours. So why do we need 12 and hope that they score 0?
We need to gain 10 goals, and if they're losing both games then they lose GD too, you utter moron.

Anyone reading this may think it's massively harsh but I'm sick of this... (wow, I'm actually run out of superlatives) filling the threads with horseshit.

    Cardiff 0-2 Leeds
    Palace 3-0 Cardiff

    City 3-0 Forest
    West Ham 0-2 City

That's what it takes to get a 10 goal swing as 9 isn't enough as cardiff have scored more. Forget Blackpool, it would take a monumental 13 goal swing..

Our final chance went with Blackpool's late winner vs Ten man United.

wonder what odds you'd get on the above results though?? ;)

In fairness, Patty criticising a player consistently is better than changing his view after every game to make out he was right all along.

Not just one or both losing there final 2 games, but Cardiff would have to suffer 2 big loses as there needs to be a 9 goal swing. Its over for this season but 7th place would be a nice place to finish and a big improvement on last seasons 65pts and 11th place.

We shall know what Cardiff have done prior to KO and IF TWS have won by 2 or 3 - 0 then why not we go gung ho and try ? Taking it to the final day would be fun even IF a tad unRealistic. <whistle>
