He might have but his last few weeks were shocking and he had clearly lost the dressing room. I did read a report and it said there were some upset players and they were surprising ones too. So maybe Hughes is going the same way.
So you are happy with a flat 4 in midfield against a 5? Happy with SWP starting ahead of Hoilett and preventing Park from playing in his best position? Happy with 2 points from a possible 21 with two games to go before we are virtually a quarter of the way through the season? Can you not understand why some are a little unhappy with Hughes?
Not if you look at the poll thread, it's 50/50. Everyone's on a continuum between basic optimism with some frustration to blind anger. Those on the anger end tend to post more vociferously, is all.
Truth is I'm 50/50. That's why I didn't vote. I completely understand the need for stability, but fear we may be as good as relegated before Hughes is gone. I really, really want to be proved wrong and will happily eat copious helpings of humble pie if Hughes starts to look like he isn't so clueless!
The 2 in midfield worked against Chelsea's 3. SWP has actually looked alright (moreso defensively) in the last couple of games. Park should be rested for games we should be targeting as wins. I do not have to agree with Hughes' every minute in charge - I am my own man. Of course I'm not happy with 2 points and of course I can understand people's unhappiness but it'd be a bit despotic to say that I've got to agree with everyone. I do see Hughes as a long term success though.
We played 4-4-1-1 against Chelsea which gave us that extra man in midfield. Can't agree on SWP. Should never be selected ahead of Taarabt, Hoilett or even Mackie imo. Agree that Park should be dropped. But why make him Captain? You don't have to agree with anyone mate and are perfectly entitled to your opinion......for the record....I hope and prey that you're right!! I'm going to watch MOTD now.....hope it's not too painful!!
I thought AJ was up front with BZ and then Mackie played an unusually forward role (for him these days). I reckon the wide players will always be the biggest bone of contention in this current team. Good to have Tarbs back in though eh Col? Just get someone to call you in for our goals because they were both sublime!!
I haven't voted either, I hate those things (and this way I get to so who voted what!). Regarding this board, I'll go with the bland 'everyone's view is equally valid/ we're all Rs/ good to show passion' line for the time being, but the longer this pro/anti Hughes stuff dominates and polarises every thread, the happier I am that I'm out of the country from tomorrow morning until 23rd October, except for a brief 36 hours next weekend. Miss the Everton game sadly, but time zones and work commitments will restrict my time on here. But hey, Norwich looking pretty ****, every cloud etc....
Of course they will, look at 4 of the last 5 goals concede, a winger beating our LB and slinging over a good cross. Park has done that once and SWP hasnt done that once in 18 months since hes been here.
