The thing is that Premier League clubs can afford to pay and if I was Jephcott, I wouldn't be keen to move unless it was to the EPL. On that basis, £1m is low but in any event there would need to be substantial add-ons - another £1m when he plays 20 games in a season, £1m if when he scores 15 PL goals, another £1m on his 5th full cap for Wales.

But if he ain't digging up trees with his performances...a club could make sure he didn't play 20 games in a season......that would also probably keep his goal tally below 15 a season....and you could keep his appearances for Wales down as well by devious means.

20% selling on fee would be a good investment to have.....if he hit the big time and he was sold on for £20/30 million that would pay Argyle far more than what they sold him for.

You could sell him for £3m and still have a 20% sell on clause though. As I said, time will tell if any offer comes in at all.

Ryan Lowe has said Ennis is NOT a replacement for Jephcott and repeated that Jephcott is NOT for sale.

Anything can change of course but I have confidence that under this regime what's being said is the party line, from Simon Hallett down. It's very gratifying to see that even in these straitened times the club has apparently paid a fee for Niall Ennis and are prepared to do for a CB as well.

Although the defence did well today... we still need a centre back organizer to come in and cement the defence together still....that would make such an improvement in our goal difference and obviously holding on in games for maximum points.

Sunderland are above us because of their unbeaten away form.....there quite mediocre at home....but we're not complaining.

Dom Telford has left for Newport C....for an undisclosed amount......surprised they got a fee for him.

Been given an eighteen month deal.

Good bit of business for us....I think he is more suited to Div2.

I see that Dan Gosling has turned down a move to Nottingham F....Bournemouth say they are open to offers for him.....not in our direction that's for sure.

Dan Gosling took advantage of his situation with Newcastle not offering him something on time and we dipped out of a sell on fee for him of a few hundred grand. Not happy with him. Don't want him here as he seems a bit of a non team man.

    Name being bandied about at present is...George Edmundson...6ft 3in...23yr old...centre back....at Rangers.

Out of favour at present for breaking Covid regulations at the club....obviously needs to get back into Gerrard's good books....who of course is a friend of Lowe.

Two and a half year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Very chuffed. Great pace, good finisher and a very hard worker.

Ryan Lowe is saying that he has got a couple of "irons" in the fire regarding bringing in a central defender before the Monday 11pm deadline....he also mentioned that their is a possibility of one player moving out as well.

Hmm! Not totally surprised about Wootton but I've always thought he was ok but with at least a mistake a game minimum in him. Probably the one not to miss too much. Would wish him well all the same if he does go.

Can we assume that Sam Woods is all we are going to get in defence.

But with rumours about Wootton possibly going to Wigan....does it mean that Lowe might still be in the market for an EXPERIENCED central defender....because the only experienced defenders at the club are Aimson and the nearly forgotten Sawyer....I think an injury or two in defence at the moment could cost us dear....and that is saying a lot with our leaky at times defence.

Surprised that Frank Nouble has returned on loan to Colchester for the rest of the season.

With Telford gone also that leaves us light up front if injuries occur.....hasn't he settled in Plymouth....so will he come back ?

So that surely confirms that Jephcott is staying put....would be too late now to replace him.
