Found a bottle of red I had no idea I had, with 2015 on the label. Will it be OK to drink? It was a gift from work so probably cheap crap, Pacifica Sur Merlot. Should be fine, aye?
Chilean, so should be decent but not great. Broadly, Chile produces reasonable wines at very reasonable prices. Some wines (eg. Beaujolais) are intended to be drunk young. Others (eg. vintage, classic clarets) are best to keep and mature for a decade or more. I'd drink the wine soon and it's highly unlikely to have deteriorated unless corked. Strictly amateur hour with me, but I have a passing interest.
Cheers, I know that man, I'm not that stupid. But don't know how long wine lasts. I'll have it tomorrow with my dinner, if I get ill I'll just blame the wife's cooking
Wine normally lasts for years unless its not been bottled correctly. Once opened though you should try and finish it in one sitting - particularly if Newcastle have won.
Before today I thought we might have been waiting that long! Thanks. Oh, and it'll be gone in 1 sitting that's not an issue
Whilst “courting” my wife many years ago I did the first (but definitely not the last) visit to my wife’s, then girlfriend, parents house. Her mother, now my mother in law (everyone keeping up?), gave me a half pint of brandy to drink as none of them drank it and she wanted it used up before it went off. It was years before I ever mentioned that brandy didn’t go off.
I get a biscuit each time I visit pouchies lass. That’s why I’ve had to lose loads of weight.. she was making me fat.
On a similar note I have a bottle of Lambs navy rum Bottle of Bicardi Bottle of napoleon brandy Bottle of Glenfiddich whisky I bought this lot n 1978 thinking they would come in handy for future birthdays Christmas etc. Problem is I became teetotal not long after (No I didnt have a drink problem) So wonder the same do you think they would of gone off or just matured
Going teetotal shouldn’t stop you from drink whisky or rum. Just put them in the tea instead of milk.
I thought I might get a reply like this They have been in the cupboard for the 30 years I've been married Was going to open them in 1996 when we won the league Never had another opportunity since
