5 teams , Wigan , Bolton , Wolverhampton , Blackburn & Queens Park are all averaging well less than a point a game . Chances of the bottom 3 places at seasons end , out of the five , will average more than a point a game is slim to nil . But lets give them a point a game for the heck of it . 18th place would have 34 points . :emoticon-0116-evilg

Thinking similar things earlier. We've got a few winnable fixtures coming up, and as you say, 2 or 3 more wins should see us safe with the occasional draw here or there. It would be a truly catastrophic collapse if we fail to see off relegation from here...

No chance mate, we need 40pts to think about being safe, if we end this season with 36 it would signal a massive slump in form.

I predicted 36pts for this season and relegation, looks like 36 may well be safe but lets get to the magic 40 mark please!!

Said we'd finish 14th at the start of the season and sticking with it, probably finish higher than this.

Would like us to get 40pts as soon as possible. So long as we beat Wolves & Blackburn at home. Take points off Bolton and Wigan then we should be safe.

Personally I think we'll get more than 40 points, but that's obviously both hopeful, and, possibly, quite a few rum and cokes talking!

Keep in mind last season 's 40 points was the exception & not the rule . The three seasons previous , I think , were two 35's & a 36 .

I would rather us get the 40 points earlier rather than later. When you look at the down side, we have Stoke away (below us), Wigan away (below us), Man City at home (gulp) and then Fulham away (below us) - all in our next four games. We are 9 points ahead of 'the scrap' where will we be after these four games? I am going to hope for 4 or more points, but don't ask me from where. Got any ideas?

I'd be fairly confident of a good showing at both Stoke and Fulham, given recent showings at Villa and Albion? I'm not expecting us to wipe the floor with anyone, but there's not many games I don't fancy us getting points from at the moment.

I think taking 3pts off Wigan is imperative. Will push them nearer the trap door, and us getting further away.

Not holding out too much hope for something out of Stoke, but there form is patchy so I'd like to think we can get at least a point. Man City "HELP" then again nobody gave us hope against Arsenal & Chelsea so you never know. Now Fulham again are a side with patchy form, with Zamora gone I do fancy us getting 3pts here. So out of this run of games I'm hoping for 7pts, will be happy with anything from 4pts upwards.

Just want to get to 40pts before April, then we can see where things are panning out.

My only concern is that some of the clubs below us will start to pick up. The loss on Saturday has also rocked me a bit to be honest. I agree with Norway. 40-ish points I'd say, just to be sure.

Bolton still have to play a lot of the bottom sides as do Blackburn as do Wolves for that matter - hope they all draw

Home v Man C, Everton, Newcastle, Blackburn, Wolves and Liverpool - can see at least 9 pts there

Away v Stoke, Wigan, Fulham, Spurs, QPR, Bolton, Man U - at least 5 being a dire pessimist

    makes 44 and safe

Birmingham finished in 18th place last season & got relegated , after 25 games they had 30 points . Wolves are in 18th place at the moment & after 25 games they have 21 points . Now I'm not sure if that really means anything but I got a pretty good feeling 36 points will do it .I still think we will get closer to 50 points but I like the feeling that the bottom 5 are sputtering more this season than last !

Wolves still have Blackburn, Bolton and Wigan to play, just hope they all draw with each other, i think one team in danger is QPR, bolton and WBA to play.

We`ve got 30 points at present, with 13 games left. It`s only points on the board that count, so we need at least 6 points, preferably a lot more.
Over the last few seasons we have not done very well against teams that are at or near the bottom. Until we are safe, every game is going to be a hard one.

I don`t think we`ll get anything from our last two games, nor Spurs & Man City, if we do it`ll be a bonus. So we`re going to have to get the points from the other 9 games.

Will we get the points? Of course we will.

We'll easily get the 40 points in my view, that's just three wins out of the last 13 games, come on lads, we'd need to implode like the Bluetits to not do this, I have us down for 50+ points, much to Norway's surprise, but we'll do 40 no problems!.................... <cheers>

<yikes> You'll owe Musty a fortune if you keep up these rash(ish) predictions, Cracker.
