Can't see it myself, I dont think the current management would give such an ultimatum. Pure speculation and stirring.
I am not believing this at all. If we pick up anything in the next 3 games, without doubt he'll be okay. If we don't and fail against Cardiff, then quite possibly, as the home crowd will not be at all happy and could influence the board. Would still be too soon IMO.
Only 12 days ago McNally said publicly in response to a question about funds set aside for the January transfer window that yes, there would be funds "and we'll sit down with Chris at the appropriate time to discuss where if at all we need to strengthen". The cynics may read that as something he would say anyway -- he's not likely to say "we'll sit down with the manager whoever he is .....", but I see no reason to take it at anything other than face value.
when you hear what fans of other clubs think about hughton possibly being in danger of the sack, they all seem astounded. general consensus is that he has done a very good job, made some great signings and most prominently, what exactly do norwich fans expect? one in particular said to me, "but i thought norwich are a well run club?" exactly - we are - i don't believe mcnally would be as careless as some of our fans. i'll admit to being embarrassed to call myself a norwich fan last weekend, not because of my team, not because of the manager, because the behaviour of a few has been over the top, impatient and if i'm honest, a little sad. i thought we were better than that.
With all due respect Cromer, why put this kind of stuff on here, you know it´s lousy journalism...........again..............again...........again, they´ve got nothing else to write about, so they make something up, hoping somebody will fall for it, and somebody nearly always does. This, and others like it have been on newsnow for the last couple of days, and I´m sure plenty of people have read them on there, surely we don´t need it on here as well. All it does is add more fuel to the ´Anti Hughton Lobby´ fire, and anyway surely we´ve debated this subject to death, everyone knows everyone else´s views on this 100 times over. Honestly, this sort of crap should be left in the bin, where it belongs. with regards rbf
It's out there for all to read, but having particular relevance to readers of this forum, it seemed appropriate to highlight it. No different to a thread entitled "How long shall we give him" which has now been running over a month and has over 500 responses. Or would you rather fans of the club simply gloss over the bits that they wish not to read and bury their heads in the sand? The issue will not go away even if we all do that.
i've got no issue with people posting these things. how is it not relevant? it is! i mean yes, it is a pretty awful piece but cromer didn't write it - he's merely highlighting what's being said, or in this case regurgitated, in the press
Cromer - I´m sure if the subject still retains some semblance of interest for any, then they´ll contribute, but speaking for myself the topic lost its fascination months ago. Not looking for, or agitating for the thread to be removed, or anything like it, just wondering why you felt the need to continue with this eternal debate, which, although for some, apparently will never go away, could actually go away if it was ignored. That was the only point I was making.
Personally I would be delighted if this was true. I am usually against clubs making hasty decisions and sacking managers. For example both the Adkins and McDermot sackings last year, in my opinion, were disgraceful. However, I'm sick of Hughton and have been since the back end of last season. It always angers me how little we offer going forward when we have the calibre of player to do so much more. His constant praise of other teams and his complete lack of ability to change a game if plan A isn't working only heighten this frustration. The man is an excellent scout and has brought some real talent into the club, of that there can be no doubt, but I fear he see's us as "little Norwich" and we are gradually withdrawing to that mentality. (Or worse we're become the new Stoke of the Prem) After the Southampton game I really felt we may have turned a corner but his approach to the Tottenham game (which was a no lose scenario, but somehow he still managed to lose it) only increased my opinion that he really doesn't have the ability to read the wider situation. What was the point in going there and trying to park the bus from kick off? I know its very early in the season but I had my mind made up when watching us away from home last that we are on the wrong path and getting off it would be the right solution.
You are entitled to your own opinion and I think there are many who feel similarly, though perhaps a little less strongly... However, I think the part in bold is ridiculous and hyperbolic. With all due respect, if you think that you have either not watched our matches or are completely blinded by your dislike of Hughton. Defensive, yes. Dull, yes. Not scoring goals, yes. But we do not play anything like Stoke - we hit many fewer long balls on average this season, we are passing much more and our pass completion is much higher. Villa are much closer in playing style to Stoke. We are just performing badly.
Just to add to what Rob has said, to describe CH's approach to the Tottenham game as "a no lose scenario" is complete rubbish. Most of the criticism of CH regarding that game has been that he went into it with a far too attacking mentality!!! You really do despair. PS I am 100% with RBF also.
the new stoke of the prem the irony is that hughes is trying to turn Stoke into a passing team, so comparing us to hughes' stoke is no bad thing
Hughes is doing a good job, I think it's gonna be a tough game for us. We just need to keep the ball, giving it away to Stoke will be suicide.
