One lucky season ticket holder will become part of Cityâs squad for 2013/14, thanks to Blackthorn Cider. The clubâs shirt sponsors are keen to reward one diehard supporter with the dream prize of joining the likes of Jordan Wynter and Aden Flint in the City squad for the forthcoming campaign. With their name in every programme, a spot in the official team photoshoot and their own squad number, this really is a unique prize. The innovative initiative, by Blackthorn Cider, is part of a wider push by the West Country manufacturer and the club to increase their fan engagement ahead for the new season. Cityâs commercial director Kevin Smith told bcfc.co.uk: âFan engagement has been at the top of our agenda for some time now and we felt this opportunity is another step in the right direction.â Any fan over the age of 18 who signs up for a season ticket before Friday, June 28th will automatically be entered into the âWin a Squad Number with Blackthornâ draw. Andy Cross, marketing manager of Blackthorn Cider, who is running the initiative as part of its renewed sponsorship of Bristol City, said: âFootball is about the fans, and we want to bring the supporters closer to the game and the team that they love than ever before. âBlackthorn has its roots in the South West and is dedicated to promoting sporting excellence in the region, from grassroots to the biggest local clubs.â Blackthorn Cider have just renewed their sponsorship deal with City for the new season, once again proudly putting their name on the front of the teamâs home and away shirts.
