Just back. Rather disappointing. A lack of football played for most of the game. Defensively not great. Tubbs given a free header for the first and the keeper flapped at one resulting in the second. Akinfenwa and Tubbs were always a handful and the former missed a good chance in the second half.

We deserved to be behind but scored the equalizer and then were unlucky not to win. Overall probably just about a fair result.

Did you enjoy the game? It did sound good in parts and commentators rated nkp as possible mom as alternative to Collins.

Probably expected too much, particularly as MM had promised exciting pacey football. There was little of this. Midfield was by passed for much of the game and the only real pace came from Gayle at times. Some people on B & A gave Ellis MOM which I find incredible. Either he or Goldson (who had just been badly fouled and just returned) were criminally absent for the Tubbs goal. He also managed to get beaten on the turn by Akinfenwa to set up the chance that he missed. Still think that NKP and Goldson are the best central partnership I have seen so far.

I would also be critical of MM's team selection. Clark had minimal effect wide right apart from very early on. The new Wildig being played out of position, maybe. Mystified as to why Wesolowski did not start or Vincent for that matter.

I did not go but I suspect it will take the first month or so of the season for the side to settle down and start playing as a unit. When it comes to centre-halves I think Grandison is immense there (remember the win at the Ricoh) and his extra height would surely be better if we are leaking headers as we were last season.
