Despite not having attended a single game since February, I robotically renewed my season ticket and to my surprise, have found some fresh enthusiasm over the summer. I’m planning on going to Wimbledon, but although the game is only a week or so away, there’s no word on tickets. Wimbledon fans can buy tickets for the match on their website, but there’s diddly squat on the GFC site. Why oh why does everything always have to be such a shambles?
I take it that you pose a rhetorical question ? ... I remember the farce, last season at Plough Lane.. Fans had to form different queues to collect tickets - which Peter LLoyd had to take to the ground - because of maladministration by the club - giving no chance for postage or personal collection at Priestfield... The scene outside their new stadium was chaotic..... what's the betting for much the same next week...I can't wait! At the beginning of last week, I phoned the Club to ascertain that the ticket office would be open on the day of the Portsmouth friendly........ I also made a 'casual' enquiry regarding the despatch of season ticket cards.. I was told that they were being placed in the post (( 11 days ago. )) Needless to say, I'm still waiting...... perhaps I can practise being a pain-in-the-arse (again), on 6th August [[ first home game.]].... A few years ago, at the opening Home game 0f that season, I attempted to use my complemetary voucher for 2 additional tickets for guests... I had already phoned ahead to ensure that I would be able to use the voucher.... I spoke to the CEO - who stated ''no problem.'' -- but-- in the ticket office, I was told otherwise. - I was told that the game was Category A ( or X !! )... I wasn't going to tolerate this excuse.. I told the poor chap in the ticket office that ; 1. There was no advertisement regarding the category status. 2. The season ticket T&Cs did not state that I could not use my voucher for the game. 3. I stated that the CEO had confirmed approval of my voucher use............... I got my complementary tickets ( and they didn't take my voucher ! ).... .........so- you'll not be surprised with my contingency plan I have received my email confirmation of purchase of my (2) season tickets.... Naturally (( cynically )), I have not deleted the email !!! If I haven't received my season tickets by 6th August, I shall be kicking up a stink at the ticket office on the day of the Rochdale game.
Still nothing on the website about tickets for next week, although there is an announcement about all the coach seats having been booked already. Not that I needed one of those, but what on earth is going on? In what world would a club sell travel ahead of tickets to the actual game? I really do despair.
Hi lads, I forgot to mention I saw this on twitter this morning... please log in to view this image Gillingham FC Tickets @GFC_Tickets · 22h Wimbledon ticket update Due to the lateness of the tickets arrival, all tickets will be placed on general sale and available to purchase for all supporters. Prices for tickets are as follows - Adults - £25 Concession - £17 17 and under - £7 @TheGillsFC #theGills
Thanks brb, that’s helpful. I wonder how much truth there is in the late delivery claim? Still no sign of them being available via the ticket site though. Also very disappointing that one of the few advantages of being a season ticket holder already counts for nothing, with these going straight to general sale.
So no sooner had I posted my last message than the GFC website updated and the tickets had gone on sale, with a priority for STHs until midday on Monday. Ticket now purchased and I can now confirm to Lady S-C that I’ll be out next Saturday. Now all we need is enough players to make up a squad. UTGs!
It's down to Wimbledon to supply tickets to Gillingham. So no not Gillingham fault this time. Having said that still not got my season ticket card which apparently was sent out a week ago. I know someone recieved theirs yesterday so maybe soon
