AFC Wimbledon have been given the green light to build a new 11,000 capacity stadium near their old home at Plough Lane. For anybody who ever visited this little ground back in the day, it was always a nice day out. Pretty much guaranteed 3 points, pleasant pubs, nice 'overground' tube ride and situated in a very leafy suburb of SW London. Good luck to Wimbledon. A club that almost disappeared from existence when they moved to Milton Keynes. AFC Wimbledon were formed on the back of that move and they've slowly built their way back through the lower leagues. Having their own home again in their spiritual surroundings is a real success story for the club. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-35066622
It'd be funny if they got moved to welwyn garden city or somewhere else equally obscure a couple years after
Why don't they just merge? Mk Wimbledon. Its coming, even if they dobt realise it. The world doesnt need to Dons.
Which still existsto this day. You're more likely to hear a Spurs fan say that Sol Campbell is a decent fella than hear a good word for MK Dons from a Wimbledon supporter. They want them to drop the "Dons" bit, as they are a brand new club in their eyes.
