CP has departed from his plan in the first three matches of playing his presumed First XI more or less complete in one half and the odds and sods in the other half. This time he has mixed them up in both halves. First half: Charlton: Button, Wilson, Wiggins, Hughes, Cort, Wood, Green, Stephens, Coulibaly, Kermorgant, Hollands 1-1 at HT - Green for CAFC, Francomb for the Wombles Second half: same team starts but after 15 minutes: Dervite, Gower, Jackson, Pritchard and Cook on in place of Coulibaly, Stephens, Hughes, Hollands and Wood After 20 minutes Wiggins and Kermorgant make way for Cedric Evina and Joe Pigott After 25 minutes Morrison and Solly on to replace Wilson and Cort. Still 1-1. After 28 minutes Jordan Cousins has now replaced Danny Green. Finish 1 -1 Hope we play our best XI against Portsmouth, even if it is only for 60 minutes. Bournemouth will be only two weeks away and we need to have a settled team. This season we will have to make up for not signing new players with teamwork, spirit, and routines ingrained in training.
FT. 1-1. I think Bennett scored from a Francomb corner, Eddie. Coulibaly had plenty of chances and worked very hard, but the end product was sorely lacking. Perhaps more minutes will sharpen this up...
Thanks, Ponders. It is hard to read the shirt numbers from 4000+ miles way. Didn't realise Mickey was still playing for them. Maybe he will get another run against Portsmouth. SuperChrissie says we have to give him a fair chance, and he's the boss. Still think he is N'Guessan's brother from another mother, but I give him props for working hard.
Quite an uninspiring performance this evening but was so good to actually see some football again after a summer without any meaningful football being on the box. Roll on the 3rd - Bournemouth will be the next game for me.
I thought coulibaly was one of our better performers. Though I don't think any individual stood out- but he's an imposing figure and he loves to put pressure on the centre backs. He should have grabbed a couple goals but maybe lacking in a bit of match fitness as pointed out. I've also just read that CP was impressed. Hopefully he gets another chance against Pompey.
