He was quite vocal about how he didn't wish to go to Saudi though it was a choice between that move and a move to us, widely reported.

I think a move the tax free sports washing Saudi would have been better paid than a move to Sunderland whose own fans are highly critical of the club for a lack of spending.

There is no way the guy would have earned more here than there, he wanted to play football for Sunderland. Doesn't really matter now anyway.

Only some fans mate, a lot of us took to the self sustainable strategy straight away.

But regardless of that, the point is we aren't paying Saudi wages. And those wages are tax free.
