QPR boss Harry Redknapp is set to sign Stokeâs Wilson Palacios. Ex-Spurs chief Redknapp paid Wigan £12million for the midfielder four years ago. Stoke signed Palacios for £6m in 2011. But he has made just four appearances this season and boss Tony Pulis has said he will let the 28-year-old leave. Palaciosâ father Eulogio said: âWilson is going to join QPR. âTheir manager is interested in signing him once more, as he knows him well. âWilson is going to change clubs as he is not getting games for Stoke. âTheir manager puts him on the teamsheet but does not play him.â
Yes yes and yes. A really decent player with plenty of experience and not afraid to put the boot in. My brother who is a sick spuds fan loves the guy and rated him highly. Much better option that cuddlestone, Livermore and probably Diakite the way he is at the moment. Would be very happy with this.
Not sure it really matters mate. We aren't going to get top players, playing in a successful team are we?
clarke was going on about how we are a lesser team than west brom just because of league tables getting back to stoke over the last 6 games they have won 1 and we have won 2 lot of games to go yet was just trying to make the point that their has to be better out there than players who cant get into an average stoke team even if you have to go down a division
So I'm Steve tbh mate we can be happy if he wants to come here, half of January already gone and we have nobody in, a bit worrying don't you think?
Possibly. But I think our almost inevitable relegation will put off most up and coming younsters. To try to stay up, we're probably going to have to continue with older, tried and trusted players on the whole and hope they work out better than the last lot. This Habib bloke may buck that trend though. Blimey......look at the time. Best get going.
but the way things are going are we just going to sign people who dont automatically say no how high up harrys list was palacios admitidly the way his price has dropped from 2009 to 2011 he should be really cheap
Pulis is a great believer in "if it ain't broke, then don't fix it". If his midfield has been doing okay without Palacios then he will stay with the same if there isn't an injury or a pile up of fixtures where he needs to give someone a rest. It doesn't mean that Palacios can't do a very good job for us. By the same token it is obvious that Faurlin, Hoilett and Diakite are crap because they haven't played as much as some. Harry knows this player. He will know what he can do and how committed to the cause he will be. The player will also know how Harry works and should understand instructions. This was Hughes big problem. His signings are not bad players but he was not used to working with them, couldn't get them to understand how he wanted them to play, didn't know their overall personality (Bosingwa!) and couldn't deal with them when things didn't go as he thought they would/should ... on paper. He couldn't fit the pieces into the jigsaw.
Sometimes I feel the table does lie - Stoke are Sh*te! Good defensively and strong especially in the air, but boring as hell to watch. Even under Hughes we were better than them at the Brittania this season, and last season we took 6 points off them.
What's this Quiz time?! Ok: "We got enough skill in the middle of the Park to be be in the top half of the PL, but are poor in front of both goals, and suffered under bad Management with Hughes for the first 10 months in 2012."
Not quiz time mate but the statement that a player that can't get in a 10th place team isn't good for us just doesn't feel right no matter if that club is Stoke or others. We're not going to sign any world class players so I would like to believe that Harry knows his job
