Thoughts? He is on holiday so. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ay-Arsenal-star-Joe-Hart-party-Las-Vegas.html
Are players not allowed to smoke anymore? Anyways, if I was Wilshere's misses, i would be more worried about these scantily clad women whispering sweet nothings in his ear. Also Joe feeding Wilshere by mouth was a little disturbing too.
Don't care. If he wants to smoke and impact on his own health why would we care? If his football suffers as a result then he'll be dropped... and again, don't care. He can smoke if he wants. Are we going to drop people for doing anything that could impact on their fitness during the off season? Eating burgers? Drinking wine?
Absolutely, you make a good point. A night of drinking and smoking is not going to cause any long term damage but regular unhealthy eating for example would have a much larger impact on performance.
Considering we're spending a large amount of money contracting him to us, he has an obligation to not negatively impact his health. Anybody who believes that the only cigarettes he smokes are the ones where a paparazzi camera happens to be around to snap it are delusional. You can bet he smokes when there's not a camera pointed at him either.
This is not about a cigarette as such. It is about his attitude and professional discipline in principle. Wenger is clever enough to take another mental note. It just means mentally Jack is far away from top class.
With the ticket prices at Arsenal to pay his wages we do have an interest if he smokes. I don't want to pay my hard earned money for him to smoke and not be as good a player as he could be if he took it seriously. P.S. Im an ex-smoker and we're the worst for hating smoking.
What are you talking about? It's not compulsory that we play him... AW will play him if he's good enough, smoker or no smoker.
He is a typical Jack the lad, by name and by nature. I don't like seeing him smoking and I know that Wenger will take a dim view. But I can't say that I'm particularly worried by these pictures. One of him is smoking a slim cigar and the other taking a drag on somebody else's ciggy. Not great, but I'd bet he doesn't smoke regularly... ...probably only when he's pissed, like the rest of us do
I've said it before but I don't believe a young man smoking occasionally has any impact whatsoever on his fitness levels, and won't have any impact throughout his career. Smoke 20 a day from teenager and the chances are you will struggle when you get to your 30's, but I don't think any pro footballer is stupid enough to smoke like a regular smoker would these days. Socrates famously smoked 40-60 a day and he still played international football at 32, OK he was dead at 57 but the health issues from smoking don't grab you at 30, they get you after a footballers career would have ended....
He's dumb...23 ish years old ... must know how difficult it is to quit smoking yet tries it like a kid Most people get hooked on smoking as kids (not all but most) under the age of 16 or 17 so to start above that age is plainly stupid imo The moral outrage is bollocks...journalists who joke and brag about how pissed they get take the moral high ground??? but I wouldn't be happy if my other half behaved in such a way as we have kids...as does jack and while he ain't a role model to kids in general he should be to his own imo...hence my view that he is dumb
Your beliefs don't seem to be based on anything scientific. He is a role model to kids in general, unfortunately. Whether he likes it or not.
Surely parents should be role models for kids not 22 year old footballers. Both myself and my wife are smokers. I never smoke in front of my grandchildren,I'm sure they don't even know I smoke. When my wife goes to my daughter's and wants a *** she has to go outside. When the grandchildren ask where my wife is they are told "Nainy's gone outside for a naughty"
I agree. But we both know that's not how it works. He's an England and Arsenal footballer. Kids idolise people like Jack, whether he likes it or not.
This might be due to the stress of how and where he's going to fit in with all these midfielders coming in....he hasn't really delivered yet. By 23 most good players have established themselves as first team regulars for club and country.
Well it won't impress Wenger much by smoking either. If we get Khedira or another DM type player, then Wilshere's chances become even less. He really needs to step it up if he's going to get into our first 11. Funny saying this as he was one of our most promising talents coming through for Arsenal and England and now he's faced with an uphill task to prove himself. Ramsey upped his game and there is no reason why Wilshere can't do it. He can learn a lot from Ozil, Sanchez etc.
Sorry but you pay your hard earn money to watch a football match not to pay Jack's wages. I'm sure you dont worry what the local cinema employee does after paying your money to watch a film, or the local council worker when you pay your council tax . I hate smoking I think its a disgusting habit but its not illegal so really its not for anyone to comment on. It's between Jack and Arsenal.
The cinema employee smoking doesn't directly effect the quality of the movie you're watching (unless they're doing it in my face). Unless we're not planning on playing Wilshere next season, what he's doing does affect us.
