http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/wilshere-has-successful-surgery-on-ankle Wilshere has had successful surgery on the stress fracture on his ankle. Thought he was supposed to be back by Christmas but that is wishful thinking. Wish Jack the best in his recovery. Another thing, why do we always manage to have one key player out for at least one season, every season?
It's a blow to lose him for such a long time. Could mean that we go for another MF in the Jan window though.......
Any ideas as to who that would be? Hoped for someone like Mvila, or Hamsik. Maybe buy Hazard and play Arshavin down the middle as that is his favoured position. Play Hazard on the wing.
I'd love to see us put a bid in for Hazard in Jan I suspect that it will be for Daniel Parejo though, who looks like a decent player We could go back with another bid for M'Villa too, but he is a DM and we still need to add one more creative CM
I expected that when I heard he was having surgery tbh. Had a feeling he was going to be out for ages right at the start too because it sounded so much like Vermaelen.
So long as we avoid the mistakes from last season when TVs injury wasn;t thought serious so we didn't buy in the window only for him to be out for the season - we must make sure that if Jack isn't fit to play on Jan 1 that someone is lined up and in very early early Jan.......not Jan 31 !
Couldn't agree more Mr Grizzly. I think an attacking MF and a CB is the bare minimum. Eden would be nice to have as well and a combination of three strong players will assuredly persuade RvP to stay. Why we didn't get the business done early this summer is fodder for another thread. Once again as others have said, we do need to look at our medics and style of training to ensure that all is well. It seems more than strange that we should be hampered by injuries
Kaka on loan if he still isn't getting playing time a Real? 6 months of Kaka for Wilshere to take his time about recovering, a boost for the fans and he gets regular football?
Yes a loan would be less draining on the funds as well. Kaka has had support here before but I note that his value seems to be dropping fast. Could he be the answer?
Whats the point in bringing in a replacement weeks before Wilshere will be due back anyway ?? January is 4 months away.
Well Mr Head I understood Super Jack The 1st to be out for 4 months at a minimum. It could even be six months depending on which report one reads which would be the end of March. It would have been a good punt to have brought the squad up to strength when we had the opportunity. I really hope we don't have to work our way back in to the CL since that could take years.
5 months out for a stress fracture, nancy boy ffs anyway maybe they have said 4-5 months but i cant see it being that long, maybe they want to cover themselfs so not to repeat the TV saga
Hothead - believe it or not Jan 1 is only 13 weeks away. The point is that we got screwed last year by failing to react quickly enough to injury (to TV), Wenger I think is on record as saying that had he known the extent of TVs injury he would have brought in a replacement. What i'm saying re Jack is that if he's not ready to play on Jan 1 then we'll need cover, it doesn't matter to me that he could be ready on Feb 1 because in that time we could lose key league/cup games that effectively end our season. We're already up against it as a result of the turmoil created by late Summer transfers, we cannot afford to lose any more ground and as the season progresses I think we should expect more injuries...
