I seriously love the way the club has done this. They have identified a way forward and have implemented it. Wenger has always spoken about building a British core and these players are that core. Wilshere is clearly the main man here (they even have him sitting in the middle) and it was vital that we got him signed to a new long term contract. Getting them to sign these contract and announcing it together was a good move. Now hopefully Theo can join this group of British players and commit his future to Arsenal.

I think that's actually a pretty positive sign (if it's true). £100,000 per week will be a negotiating point, but surely it's within the salary cap anyway?

 

The key here is to make sure that these British players bond and form the basis of the team for years to come.

 

Podolski is already rumoured to be on at least £100k

 

To the people that will complain about Ramsey, remember it could always be worse.

To me this is designed to put pressure/show up Theo - the timing of all 5 contract getting signed at exactly the same time and the release of the photo just says 'where's your signature Theo ?' to me.
I don't disagree with the strategy of the club, they feel betrayed to some degree by another player refusing an excellent contract offer though I doubt this will have any impact on the player or his agent, if he wants out then so be it, he'll be a loss not on a par with Cesc or Van Per$ie

 

I think it's safe to say that the papers have picked up on that fact.

 

Didnt Theo say this stuff "Takes time"? Yet Arsenal got 5 of them done AT THE SAME TIME.
