I've been critical of him in the past, and even yesterday I was perplexed how he got MOTM ahead of Perch or Cissé or Ben Arfa or Ba or Tiote or or HOWEVER, they have Willo in the bbc team of the week, and Garth Crooks says we have WON 60% of our matches with Willo starting, compared to 38%! when he didn't start. That's quite some stat to be honest. I'm having trouble actually feel this can be right, seeing that we went on quite a run at the start of the season without Willamson. But if this is indeed true, he's gotta be the first man on the teamsheet.

All in all he's not looked most convincing but I guess he's very effective at what he does. So hats off Willo, my bad for doubting you.

As for Perchinho... the man-cum-machine-mountain that he is... I have love for you. Love how the croud having taken to Perch finally, every tackle gets a huge roar.

Im certain that stat is wrong, but maybe I'm wrong.

He did well yesterday, but how he got in ahead of Perch I don't know. Perchinho was awesome yesterday.

Thought he had a very good game yesterday. Carroll monstered himm aerially but he does that to most when fired up. He didn't give him much otherwise. MOM? Nah Tiote was my MOM, ran the game from start to finish. But a special mention must go to Perch who ran him close with a terrific show.

Willo is a good squad player and you'd be happy with him as your 4th choice centre half. We need a younger talent to come in ahead of him in the summer but we have to remember players like Willo who don't moan and wait their chance, are worth their weight in gold.

Haha I couldn't believe what I was reading on Team of the Week, surely that statistic cannot be true. Also reading about Williamson's 'consistent' performances at the back <laugh> yeah consistently terrible until yesterday! Crooks really doesn't have a clue, expert my foot.

IMO Willo and Perch have solidified themselves as part of the squad next season because of this run without Colo and Saylor...Probably 1 more CB brought on so Perch is freed to back up all 11 positions.. AND Willo did play decent yesterday and I won't be too concerned about that 60% stat really, we've missed Saylor too much for it to be really meaningful..
All in all, his mistakes the past few matches still in my mind, he has learned from them and played well and hope it continues!!!!!

Willo is very much a confidence player and that's why he's only useful as a covering CB

When he's just filling in for a few matches, he's quite a solid CB. But after a certain amount of games, he starts losing his head after a mistake or two, and this has been his trend for the last few years.

I hope we keep Willo, I really do. He's a decent bloke and a decent player. But we cannot rely on him for a long spell of games. We need another CB in the summer as we cannot rely on Saylor to stay fit for a full season, and we can't have Williamson as long term back up.

We could really use Willo for cover and also for Europa league.

I wouldn't get too hung up on the 60% stat. All it proves is how well we've done and how much stats are worth as opposed to looking with your own eyes.

Taking nothing away from Willo but I imagine he has started against smaller teams whereas Colo or Tayls might have been saved for the bigger, harder games.

Loving how much hate Perchinho is getting today... not because I dislike him, but because I can imagine all the Liverpool fans frothing at the mouth whilst furiously mashing their keyboard in an impotent rage.

Where as our squad was really poor last year with McLovin, Alan Smith, Ranger etc I quite fancy our squad now. Ameobi, Guthrie, Obertan, Raylor, Marveaux, Best & Perch all players you can put on and not worry too much about the quality dipping too much. Shola is actually a pro and running the ball into the corner and getting corners and wasting time. Oberman will run at anyone (its the only thing he can do) and Perch seemingly is willing to play all over the park.

Last year this time we lost Carroll and were effectively fielding a championship side. Squad this year is a lot better than it has been in ages. All that's missing is a left footed left back. I'd have no quabbles fielding a Best Shola and Obertan in a front free in a europa league match. I just feel like our squad is balanced and halfway useful for once. No Geremis and Cacapas being thrown on either.

Left back and centre half is all I'd be looking at for the summer.
