    Williamson response

    Statement from Mike Williamson, Sunday:

"I would like to apologise to the Newcastle supporters and my fellow teammates for getting sent-off during yesterday’s game.

"There was absolutely no intent to hurt Jamie Vardy or get sent-off. But I recognise that I should have been more composed and measured in my determination to win the ball.

"Unfortunately, it did the one thing that I never wanted to do, and that was to hurt the team.

"I will do whatever I can to help teammates prepare for the next two games and fight to get back into the team when I’m available.

"I’ve had the honour to play for Newcastle for five years now, and I can genuinely say that I feel privileged to play for this club.

"I would never do anything intentionally to hurt the team or its supporters.”

Staying around for five years has been enough to hurt us <laugh>

**** player, should have been transfered years ago but Carver was a still a **** to say that **** yesterday. The man is a low life parasite, clasping with all his worth at a job he should never have been given and is simply not up to but will see out his contract for another five years to add his utter ineptitude for the club he claims to support and love. What a chancing lowlife piece of ****.

I honestly don't think Willo meant to get sent off. Mainly because his typical match play doesn't actually involve him in thinking ahead!!!

He is a 100% tryer, which is more than quite a few players in our squad/team. His main fault which is something he is not able to address is that he is essentially a Championship player being asked to do a job in the Premier League (and who wouldn't given half a chance) by a Club who think more about profit than winning or entertainment.

    This.

Also it's interesting that he apologised to the fans and to the players ... but not the manager. Although if I were him and had been slated in public by my manager, I probably would have conveniently forgotten to apologise to him too.

When I first heard people saying that Carver said he thought one of players got sent off deliberately I thought he was talking about Janmaat. Williamson's tackle was stupid but Janmaat's looked more like he didn't fancy it anymore.

Carver was out of order yesterday saying what he said (ffs say in private not on MOTD) and you will notice in Williamson's statement there that there is no mention of the manager. That comment by Carver has surely driven a wedge further between him and the players and it's even less likely now that he will have them fighting for him in the remaining 3 games.

Absolutely. And to repeat what I said on the other thread, where is the action from those fcking morons at the top? If they do nothing now, they never will. It's bordering on insanity that Lee Charnley's even in a job there, let alone the fcking goddam MD.

Carver wears his heart on his sleeve when it comes to NUFC, and herein lies the problem.
    He simply talks to much.
He is absolutely entitled to his opinion of the players conduct and if he feels it appropriate to "hair drier" them to coin a phrase.
What he absolutely should not have done is to take this outside the dressing room.
In my opinion he has by his thoughtless rant cost us any hope of this squad motivating themselves to secure another single point this season.
If he is still in charge next match, l really fear the worst and fully expect that he will be!

Here's the thing. Carver should not be going in on Monday, and probably neither should Stone. It's so blatantly obvious, he should not - for the club, for the players, for himself - be going to Darsley on Monday. Just shouldn't happen. At any other club, forgetting he'd have never been appointed in the first place, he would be gone, he would HAVE to be, there'd be no choice.

But he'll be here. He is just one of a series of no-mark boot-lickers at the club. Charnley has no bollox, the media team are a bunch of pussies, everyone just wants to tow a line, or is so utterly incapable they don't know what else to do. I've asked both Lee Marshall and Wendy Taylor via Twitter if it's all just some kind of joke we can't see? I emailed Wendy separately seeking just an answer to WHY Ashley is settling for this, no response (obviously). It's at the point where it doesn't matter anymore, somebody somewhere has to say or do something.

The acid test must surely be if the board takes action whilst it still can, and by that l mean replacing Carver with someone, anyone that might just get a response from the wreckage of a team we have left.
If they do nothing and watch us sink, then they are more contemptible than anyone could have possibly imagined.
We know Ashley likes a gamble, but even he would not be so stupid as to sit back and watch us be relegated without at least doing/trying something? Would he?

If they sit back and do nothing now then that for me signals their attentions. They aren't bothered. The players have given up and don't want to play. Carver should have been sacked last night. Lee Charnley is really starting to piss me right off. A mouthpiece that is doing a job he is incapable of doing.

If I were Williamson I'd be considering taking Carver to civil court for slander. Little wonder he neglected to apolosise to him.

Perhaps he just simply doesn't consider Carver his manager any more.

Perhaps he simply doesn't consider him at all Mrs M
Carver is a total nonentity and it's hard to see how he commands any respect, especially now.
I suspect the players think he is a total ****er

Mike Williamson may not be graced with the skills of many footballers, yeah, he's crap as a Centre Half in the PL, but at least he's a trier. He probably realises he's out of his depth, unlike Carver who still lives in some sort of dream world.

Carver is just a non-entity who shouldn't be allowed near the players for the remainder of the season.
If it came to a choice,Williamson or Carver, I wouldn't be standing in Carvers's corner.

Not sure if any of this is true but rumours said Willo, after Carver had a go during the interval, tried to chin him but was pulled away by the other players. Then on the coach coming back apparently Janmaat had a crack at Carver. Someone needs to knock some sense in Carver as he's taking us down.

It was a terrible challenge, but I think Willo was genuinely just too slow, clumsy and frustrated to avoid it.

I don't for one second think Willo went through a thought process of getting sent off to miss the final games. He lacks Premier ability, but I think he always gives HIS best (even if that isn't good enough). I have always been one of his knockers in termsof not bbeing good enough, but I wouldn't question his integrity or his desire to play for theclub. I think he knows he is unlikely to get regular games in the Prem at any other club and appreciates what he has here. Hdus still uttetly ****, but hd didn't deserve Carver saying what he did.

Speaking of Carver, this clown is just a nutjob who has somehow landed his dream job, despite a complete lack of ability, professionalism, common sense, integrity, decency, man-management or PR skills. He us literally the worst head coach / manager I have ever known.

Agreed. I actually dont think many Premiership players are capable of going through the thought process of timing a tackle to deliberately get sent off. And Williamson's tackling is not precise enough to ensure it was done right on top of the camera just in case the ref missed it!
One thing to be said for Carver's management skills is they are light years ahead of his PR skills. He couldnt do a worse job if he appointed BRS as his spokesman.

    Agree about Willo.
    Agree about Carver.
csn't agree on BRS. I love his posts and think he would be a great PR man. The match day programmes would actually be worth buying with his write-ups.

I feel for Willo. I've looked back at the incident and he was just slow and clumsey.
He's dog **** on the pitch but has heart and get's stuck in.
As Heed says I'd be in the pro Willo camp given the anics of Mr Carver.
It's a shamr Charney can't be interviewed and say 'yes. well i think Carcer is intentionally taking us down so that he can pitch for a job at his level'.
