    According to the Sun.

Williamson out for £2million, Douglas in for free. Sounds good to me.

Williamson out for £2million, no replacement lined up. Streete/Good promoted. Not so good.

Good luck to him, it wasn't that he didn't try. Probably a good move for him.

Agreed, will always appreciate and warm to players that give their best and he was certainly one of the them. Unfortunately for us (and him) he's just a shade off being Premier League standard.

More unfortunate for us is that the Sun are publishing this sotry which probably means there's no chance in hell that this is true.

Good luck to him if he goes, he's always given 110% and played a real team mans role under intense, sometimes unfair scrutiny from the fans. Limited but whole hearted.

Time to move him on and if it is Douglas coming in then great. Even if it is Good/Streete promoted I'll be happy. You have to give these kids a chance at some stage, and I'm pretty sure they could do equally if not a better job than Willo. If you are not going to consider them for the 4th or 5th choice role in your first team squad, you might aswell disband the youth system.

I agree in a sense, but Douglas would be good not just because he's better than the two kids mentioned but because then they could be loaned out for the season to get regular first team football. I want as many as of our young players loaned out as possible if they aren't good enough to get 15-20 games for us. They'll improve at a much better rate getting game time in the championship than they will getting the odd 10-15 mins with our first team.

Lee Ryder has confirmed on twitter that Cardiff hold a 'firm interest' in Williamson so looks like this one may have legs.

Looking at our defenders, how prone they are to injuries, I reckon they would get the 15-20 games. Are they good enough? Only one way to find out!

Lee Ryder/Mark Douglas and the like, couldn't lie straight in bed to be honest

Good got completely annihilated by Dyer in the Cup final (admittedly he was out of position), but he looked completely out of his depth even in a L2 side...

While I would certainly never mourn the loss of Mike Williamson to Cardiff City, we need to make sure we're in a position to cover his departure.

It's not confirmed yet what's happening with Colo, Taylor is injury-prone and Mbiwa would be left alone in the centre! <yikes>

If he goes I wish him well.
Always tried hard did the lads, even if he wasn't the most gifted.
A model pro off the pitch by all accounts and did a lot for the community.

Another year on, all the stronger for the experiences etc. I'd go with Streete first as he has been highly thought of. Good I haven't seen enough of to judge but I'd want to see over more than one game. I've seen Colo, Saylor etc all anhilated by PL and lower league opposition at various stages. If he got toasted in a cup final playing out of position, he wouldn't be the first or last.

I'm not saying he is ready but at some stage we have to throw the likes of him and Streete in to find out. Its too easy to try and find the answer in the cheque book all the time.

Having a promising youngster at 5th choice is fine. At 4th choice is risky, 3rd choice suicidal.

Assuming Colo is nailed down (San Lorenzo can't afford him and he is as happy in Newcastle as he would be anywhere outside of Argentina), then would be happy to let Williamson go as soon as Douglas is signed. 4 experienced pros with the kids behind.

If Willo is going we need 2 CB's.

If Douglas is Willo's replacement then that's a great bit of business, but we need an extra CB for the inevitable Saylor injury.

Willo wasn't the greatest at the top of level, but he put in solid performances in 70% of his games, and the stick he got sometimes was really quite pathetic.

He'll have a set of games in a season where his confidence drops, but apart from that, he did really well.

I'd be happy with Streete at No.4 to a point. The problem we have is Saylor is very injury prone. He is guaranteed to spend some time on the table. Colo is 30 plus, and for all his class has shown signs of picking up more injuries. Mbiwa looks rock solid. So maybe we do need another because Streete has shown signs of fragility in his short career. If we got Douglas and had Colo, Mbiwa, Douglas, Saylor I'd be over the moon. Easily the strongest centre half unit we've had at the club. Peacock, Albert, Howey, Venison was a canny unit. Bramble, Woodgate, O'Brien, Caldwell, Hughes, Dabizas probably the most options we ever had.

I'd be happy with Willo out for £2m and Douglas in for free, IF we keep Colo, Saylor and MYM. Not sure all of that will happen though.

One thing is for sure though, if he does go then the bugger will only go and score a header from a corner - against us! <grr>

Sorry, anyway he'll have no chance with Shola making him.

Can we not offer Shola as part of a Tupac to Cardiff? Actually lets not risk losing out on the Willo deal.
