We were heavily linked with this defensive mildfielder last January and again earlier this month.

Apparently he has just terminated his contract and is now available on a free transfer. Certainly wouldn't be surprised if this has MA written all over it:

We can sing his name to the tune of Fernando by Lady Gaga:

    Willie Vainquer, Willie Vainquer
Willie Willie Vainquer Willie Willie Vainquer

    or something like that...

A DM with a name that translates as Vanquisher or Conqueror. He's gotta at least be a good midfield destroyer surely?!!

    William the Conqueror. Sounds ideal.

With Perch being heavily linked with 700K move to Wigan or Leicester, wouldn't be a huge shock. Anyone else think 700K sounds the bargain of the century?

Perch is a good, solid quad player who has been very consistent in putting in decent performances for us. Add in his ability to play in several positions and he's easily worth £3 - 4 million. Would be sad to see him go.

Agree. Worth holding on to if we can. Especially with our terrible injury record. Last season should have shown the board we need strength in depth, even though we don't have Europa this season, we still need players who can step in and not weaken the team.

It would be sad to see a hard working player like Perch leave while we keep other wretched bastards like Shola. If he goes and SA stays there is something seriously wrong with our club.

Perch took a while to settle in but he's been very solid for a while now and well worth keeping in my opinion.

This! We need to keep the likes of Perchy, but let Gosling, Shola, Willo, Jonas and Obertan go and replace them with 2 strikers, a centre back and a winger who can actually challenge for first team places (based on ability, not their love if Pardew).
