The reason I ask is that the club have vehemently denied that he is going to be fired. They have stated he is being supported and will be able to replace Gyan in January. If we turn up on Sunday and slate the mansger - will this be good for the players? Will it make them play the game better or will it affect them too? Personally - I am on the fence about Bruce - If he goes he goes and if he stays I will support him 100%. I just, personally, think that it is detrimental to the team on the pitch to show anger towards Bruce. It will affect players performance and, inevitably, the result of the game. We saw on Saturday gone that the team raised their game when the crowd got behind them. I can't attend on Sunday due to the Great North Run and previous plans made (ticket is still being used) but hope that the people who are there, be them BiB's, BoB's or BoF's (me) will back the team on the field and ignore their anger towards Bruce for the duration of the match.
Sadly not so sure about that any more Agent - would have been before the Newcastle game but things that have happened since and including that have turned more than 1% against him (I believe) I know cest, parker and ajmaddison all want Bruce out - aj has said he will fully support Bruce on Sunday but he still wants rid - just hope the entire BoB thinks this way
I firmly who that there will be plenty of fans going to the game secretly hoping that things go wrong so they can do what they do best...Moan, whinge and shout how ****e the team and manager are...I sometimes wonder if some of these characters are hen-pecked at home and just go to the games to get things out of their systems.
For 90mins this weekend I will support everyone involved in the sunderland cause. Ater that, I will still think that Bruce isnt the right man atm. And i will still think that Ji is the best thing since sliced bread. Sometimes being critical is most pure form of support, rather than blindly getting behind an entity that is failing to try and prove your worth. But each to their own. Just remember, The Red and White Stripes are bigger than Bruce, Quinn and Short
similar to what i posted yesterday. The crowd were pretty flat against chelsea, and will hopefully make some noise against Stoke. if the crowd dont make noise, then we might as well be playing away.
This is exactly my point...Some of the BOB's on here think that because the crowd havn't yet verbally abused Bruce, means that they have been supportive of the team...My take on this is that our crowd have been ****e of late just when the team have needed it most...It's easy to support a team when things are going well, but it takes real effort when they are not.
The crowd only really "got behind" the team on Saturday for 5 minutes at the end - and the team raised their game - scored a goal and, if Bramble hadn't passed it back to Cech and had given it to the best crosser of a ball on our side, might even have nicked a point. We were fully behind the team and everything about it for those last 5 minutes. For the other 88 minutes the crowd was terrible and hardly made any noise
Up untill the chelsea game I've always tried to support Bruce and find arguments to support the BIB, I just see too many things atm that look very worrying and reminiscent of relegation season, I'm not a fully fledged bob I just can't shake the feeling that I've lost faith in the man, however faith can be restored, and a good win on Sunday would go some way to doing that. I just think thr man is lost and he doesn't have the answers right now. If the players want Bruce to remain they need to go out and show it on Sunday
Whilst the team is playing and fighting I'll sing my heart out like i always do, however another 4-5-1 **** performance and defeat I'll not be able to take.
This! Were not the only fans to boo their team when there ****! All fans show there dissapointment in this way and were no different!!!
Yeh but the problem is that it gets really old giving blind support and getting nothing back all year, people would rather save their breath now and figure its time the team showed they are worthy of the great support we normally show them ffs!
so dont make any noise, dont sing dont back the team? Our home games might as well be away games if this is the case.
No, im simply stating that i can understand why the crowd has gone quiet, there sick of shouting their lungs out and getting jack all in return thats all!
I will be 100% behind Bruce but i have questions that need answering we ended the season giving Bruce the benefit of the doubt because of our injury list. We are 4 games in and already had injuries with all our back 4 which with ferdinand going it is even more confusing. Should Bardsley get his 4 match ban we are struggling with playing Richardson in defence and who knows whether Turner is ready yet. I am worried that the club are more concerned with money than the team. It has been rumoured we had a deal in for a striker on deadline day but could not raise the funds (no one knows who this player is by the way). Ferdinand and Gyan have gone, now all of a sudden we have money available which is handy considering we can't spend it. Its like me telling my wife she can spend as much as she likes shopping but only between the hours of 6-00pm Sunday to 6-00am Monday morning. The next 4 games are crucial and we need to field our strongest side now down to Bardsleys stupidity it looks like he will be banned if guilty i hope the club fine him heavily
There's a huge difference between supporting the team/club and supporting the manager personally in my view. If no disapproval is shown (and fans have every right to show disapproval) at games then when is it appropriate? If fans can't express this sentiment at a game then then the alternative is to sit there and just accept the unacceptable. The flat atmosphere evident at the weekend is the lull before the storm of outright disapproval. We have won once at home in 2011. He has spent a fortune and the team is worse than ever. He can't keep hold of a striker for goodness sake. It's ok to replace Gyan in January? He still needs to replace Bent and Welbeck before he gets to that piece in the jigsaw. It's always a surprise to him when a player takes off in the window and then Quinn appears telling us that the player's body language and attitude has been iffy for a while. Well guess what Niall? That much is obvious to the fans, and that was the case with Bent and now with Gyan. If they players is clearly intent on leaving then fine, but for God's sake replace them first. Bruce doesn't so this. He lacks the intelligence, wit and nous to do this job. 4 games played this season and no wins and just two goals. Time to go and the sooner the better. He's been a disaster. At any other club he'd have been shown the door a while ago. As a club we have always stood by failing managers for far too long resulting in the incoming manager having a hell of a battle and too late to turn things round. That needs to change otherwise we will go down this season.
