A striker and a midfield general to help Korey Smith.

Why oh why are we running round like headless chickens trying to get players in at the last moment.

Rather wait for the loan window, to re-open and get what we need.

What evidence have you got that they are running around like headless chickens?

He's probably "in the know" like some other posters but can't tell us their source

The fact that we've had months to conclude any sort of business, have signed 2 (-1) players, have put ourselves on the map as a laughing stock by making stupid bids with money we (apparently) don't have, all the while while the manager complains to the press about the transfer window being unfair, and have waited until deadline day to make two loan signings, with another two most likely needed.

Headless chickens is generous. At least headless chickens move around a bit.

It's all a bit 'after the Lord Mayors Show' for me, but let's hope that the injection of new players has the desired effect on results.

At least the newbies will have some time to familiarise themselves with their new team mates with the international break coming up.

Yeah it's so easy to buy players isn't it? Chelsea Real Madrid Spurs and Arsenal have all shown that this window haven't they? And Laughing stock? Really? We've put bids in for players and for whatever reason they didn't come. It's football it happens.

I'm quite happy with our business today. Our defence is the problem. We'll be ok in the final third as we're creating chances. Freeman is back now, he's our best player so our attack has been boosted. Now we've signed Moore and Baker, the latter having good experience in the premier league, we've strengthened greatly. So long as they settle in and fans don't get on their back if they aren't amazing straight away, then we have a very strong looking defence.

I do agree with you RR that we need another CM and a striker. If we know it then you can know for sure Cotterill does. He's obviously working his bollocks off to bring the BEST here. Clearly it's proved harder than he thought. We could have signed Bradshaw and Dack today if we wanted, but the club didn't think they were good enough. I'm annoyed that we haven't got all our players in on time like last season but I trust the guys who guided us to a double. They know what they are doing.

I agree with you Shiny. And it is worth remembering that Baker, for example, would not have been available before today as Villa only got Lescott today.
Proof that now we are in the Championship, life is totally different to little ol' League One last year.

As for a striker, and without any criticism of Wilbs implied, I am waiting to see Kodjia and Agard together.
The terrier in Keiron and the pace and trickery of "Jimmy" will get us goals.

We may have another striker in next week, I'll be mildly surprised if we don't.
