Will we stop the rot against Crewe or will it be 15 without a win.

With pre-season and cup games we have now gone 14 games without a win (including a 3 - 0 defeat at Woking with our 1st team playing)
What are the realistic chances of a win at Crewe (who are also not storming the league) can we make this the turning point for our season.
Will MA pick a winning team or make changes for changes sake (he's criticised the players in public and might feel obliged to follow through)

BUT most important! will I score a point in the brb prediction league.

The rot will continue to set in to the team. So I think another defeat will be on the cards. Other teams will have little to fear and I sense the likes of Crewe, and teams that are near us in the league, will want to make the most of playing the Gills and get some points in the bag. So sorry to say my opinion is that we are the leagues whipping boys and teams will not be cautious against us like last season.

if middling teams like crew arn't cautious against us and go gun how that's great.- that probably gives us the best chance of points. the one thing we are ( or were) set up for is effective counter attacking

grumpygit...worry not, my first league game miss of the season, hence we are guaranteed to win.

It's not about being gun ho it's about being less cautious and defensive . Last season some teams would be sitting behind the ball and by happy with a draw against us. What I am saying is we earnt respect this season we are all over the place and clubs will be looking to reap the benefits of our poor start. Have you watched the Gills this season? Because from what I have seen (all home matches) we are there for the taking and we don't offer much of a threat

no, WG i havnt made it over the water to a game this season yet so please forgive my impertinence for contributing to the debate on the merits of counter attacking. I do hope to make it over for the oldham match but in the meantime brb could ban myself and any others who have the audacity to contribute without attending regularly. it is worrying that we haven't kept a clean sheet but i still stand by my point, if crew, who look to be one of the weaker teams attack more aggressively than usual we have a chance of getting something via effective counter attacking.

I will be going tomorrow hoping that Gillingham do pick up all three points against Crewe Alexandra, but once again we will face another team who can pass the ball better then ourselves and another team who will dominate the midfield battle, and until we add pace and creativity to our midfield then we are going to be out-played by the vast majority of clubs in this division.

Hopefully we try something different in tactics and personal tomorrow and try and change the way we play, I predicted a 1 . 1 draw in BRB's prediction league and if we get something tomorrow then that would be great, but I (like everyone on this forum) want to see Gillingham pick up our first three points of the season and here's hoping that tomorrow is where we pick up our first win of the season.

I make no secret of the number of games I am able to attend, usually those that are within travelling distance of Rochdale (hence game no. 2 at Crewe tomorrow), but that doesn't mean I don't have an opinion and shouldn't express that opinion. I do stop short of making general comments on the way the team is playing simply because I don't have first hand experience, but believe I have every right to express an opinion on the state of the club.

However as far as tomorrow is concerned I'd be happy with a 0-0. I really don't think we've got the midfield to be able to counter-attack effectively, and I don't count hoofball as effective counter-attack.

I don't have great expectations for us getting anything at Crewe. In my opinion it will be a tougher game than Bradford as they will play good passing Football.I feel Allen will be under serious pressure should we lose tomorrow as it will be our worst ever start to the season, with us left rock bottom and no wins since April, and two months of the season gone with no win.I feel for Allen as he wanted us to challenge the top half this season, but he hasn`t got the squad to do it.

I would love a win tomorrow to kick start our season, and for Allen to be given more time.
