    I think we will.
It will be Aymen or Austin.

in an obvious way I think the Man U performance has papered over cracks, however there's a few disclaimers here - first, Mbemba clearly is an able deputy for Janmaat so we cannot really expect to have a first rate right back sat on a bench - we're only mid-tablers right now. Second, we are only four months from January, so do Saylor and Dummett not deserve at least a chance to show themselves under Schteve/Blackie/Cathro?? Third, I want Mitrovic to be first choice and having Cisse playing second fiddle for his last season is no bad thing - is Austin going to do that? Fourth, we really want to see if Tiote can get back to his best and don't want to bring in more players to push youngsters like Perez, Aarons or Kemen any further down the pecking order. Fifth, I want Armstrong to get a chance at filling Shearer's boots.

So my vote is no, but in January if we keep leaking - which we probably will - then it's time to buy the two defenders we probably already need. Disclaimer is if Cisse goes, we need to replace.

I think the only way we'll sign another first-team player, is if we sell one first <ok>

I would be happy with only one more signing, that being a CB. Man U had no height so our recent cracks were not exposed, however, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man C have aerial threats and it might be too late by then.

I agree. I think we will need to generate some cash before anybody else comes in. It's just a shame we haven't got anybody we don't want that's worth **** all! Willo is a 500k player, Gouff not much more. The best we can hope is that some of the ****e gets loaned out and at least frees up some wages for an incomer.

    ^^This for me.

Add into all those points the fact that so far we have the 5th highest net spend in Europe this summer behind AC Milan, Man City, Real Madrid and PSG (It would have been 4th highest, ahead of PSG, if Davide Santon's sale had been included in January's figures instead of this summer's). While we all know that this follows on from years of under investing and being the most profitable in the market over the previous 5 years, we still need to be realistic about how much we spend. I can't see us bringing in another first team signing unless we sell first - and I don't mean one of the under achievers. I think they need to go anyway, regardless of anyone else coming in.

Have it on good authority that we are currently in negotiations with one more player. The move is dependent on us moving on a first team back up though.

    Interesting.

    Dunk/Williamson?
    Gouffran/Afobe?

Lets just say that Williamson is not expected to play a part for us this season. Gouffran? Well, he's actively looking for a new club.

Willo would be an excellent addition for a Championship side. Not many will want the wages though.

He's on about £25 p/week apparently. Steep even for the top Championship sides.

Yes but only if we ship out 2/3 fringe players. Willo isn't needed now I'd rather blood Lacelles than play him and Gouff and Marveux all look like they will struggle to get time this year behind Thauvin, Aarons, Perez, Obertan, Sissoko who all look like they will be used out wide so should be actively looking to sell.

Doesn't bode well that only 6 people can read.

We need to ship as many of these deadweights as possible as quickly as possible. The problem for the club and Mac is you will probably be going right up to the wire so clubs can see who is desperate to offload to catch a ripper deal.

It should not prevent us signing really but they will still be operating in a financially prudent manner. I think we'll get rid of 3 to 4 on top of Abeid.

Gouffran, Williamson, Obertan, Vukic and Marveaux should be the players we need to ship out immediately. In January, focus on getting rid of Riviere. I would personally get rid of Curtis Good [always injured] and Satka [young but simply not good at all.]

I'm pretty optimistic of getting 10-12th position this year and blooding some youngsters to then be able to try and push to the top ten next year. We have signed quality rather than quantity (I'm confident all 4 improve our first team) and then add in players who were injured most/all of last season (Aarons, De Jong, Tiote, Saylor, etc) and we look to have more depth as well. Yes there are places in the team we lack depth (CB / LB) but overall this summer has gone better than I expected.

Any more now would be a massive bonus. Fair play Ashley, credit where it's due.
