Will we get Gameiro?

In my opinion, assuming Hatem is 'Arfa the player he was at the start of the season, and that we get Cabaye and/or Gervinho, we have creativity in abundance. However, only Lovenkrands would take one in ten chances out of our current crop of strikers. SO, getting to the point, do you think we will we get Gameiro? I don't think we will get him and I'm struggling to find someone equally prolific who would suit us. Personally, I would pay stupid money for Sturridge (£20 mill if necessary) but maybe I just rate him too much! What does anyone think on the whole striker situation?

 

I think Sturridge will be better, but i;d rather just pay 10mil for Gameiro. Sturridge will cost too much

 

Don't know where all this talk is coming from that Ben Arfa will be half the player he used to be.

It was a serious injury, that's all my point was, personally I think he'll be fine but there's always the odd player who's not quite the same so let's just hope it's not him!

 

To be honest, if Leon Best stays fit for next season and is in the form he was before injury then we should be on course for another comfortable mid table finish. I reckon one or two strikers would be useful but not particularly necessary provided the team spirit is still there...

 

I've not been convinced Best is a first choice striker yet. He's good backup (better than Ameobi at any rate, and i'm not Ameobi's biggest hate) but I don't think relying on him is a great idea. We need a class striker to really look threatening.

 

Gameiro is a slightly unrealistic target.

Sturridge is an incredibly unrealistic target. Chelsea bought him for big money when he did nowt at city and now he's actually playing well they'll never sell him. I think Chelsea want their future strike force to be Sturridge and Lukaku.

Don't worry about Ben Arfa.

I fell down down in the ice and snow in December 2010 and broke my ankle plus ruptured my ankle ligaments. Whilst admittedly I'll have a limp for life I can still sup the same amount of ale (probably more) and still walk home remembering every verse to the ' Blaydon Races '.

The lad will be fine.

 

Chelsea aren't big on bringing youngsters through due to their need for immediate success (see spending £50 mill on and out of form striker to try and win them the league rather than trying Sturridge) so I think if we offered 20 mill they would part with him. I can't see Gameiro happening but stranger things have happened...

This. I'll be content with Gamiero/Sow/Ba/Sturridge, Best, Lovenkrans, Ameobi & Airey/Young Ameobi/youth. In that order of quality.

No idea, probably not.

 

It was more a question of, will we get a quality striker, rather than Gameiro specifically

 

Where has 'Tiote' gone tonight? To cry in the corner that we might have signed a quality player. There are plenty of other candidates for our Striker position and are bound to sign someone before September.
