The fixtures for both clubs are below. I am not saying this is race for 6th and 7th another team could easily make up ground. Just a comparison of Watford and Wolves.

    Watford:
    Liverpool (a)
    Leicester (h)
    Citeeeeh (a)
Southampton (h) this game could be moved in the order due to the cup mind
    Man U (a)
    Fulham (h)
    Arsenal (h)
    Huddersfield (a)
    Wolves (h)
    Chelsea (a)
    WHU (h)

    Wolves:
    Huddersfield (a)
    Cardiff (h)
    Chelsea (a)
Arsenal (h) this game could be moved in the order due to the cup mind
    Burnley (a)
    Man U (h)
    Soton (a)
    BHA (h)
    Watford (a)
    Fulham (h)
    Liverpool (a)

    What do you think?

Those 2 games will moved and Fulham home might be too for us if we make it to the semis.

Both got tough away games but Wolves have a habit of doing better against the top sides and not so well v the lesser ones.

As for us - we are keeping it very tight atm so should be able to keep our good form going generally but as I say the away games are tough.

Yeah, I guess our to Liverpool, Citeeeeh, Man U and Chelsea are pretty much written off. Whereas, Wolves only have Chelsea and Liverpool away.

Finishing 7th won't have any particular significance for Wolves if we win the cup.

So, 7th will only get a team into Europe IF one of the big 6 win both cups?

Or if we win the FA Cup, what does that mean in terms of league positions qualifying for Europe?

Three teams below the top four, the cup winners and the 5th and 6th place teams, get into Europe. If the cup winners are one of those top six then the 7th team gets a place.

So your first point is correct.

NZ, I am confused or confusing!?¿

Does the underlined bit mean that if 1st to 7th get into Europe? Or do you mean two below the top four going into 6th? and the Cup winners?

England have three places in the Uefa League.
These places are offered to the FA Cup Winners, the League cup winners and the team that finishes 5th
So The top five places and the two cup winners get into Europe.

If the winners of either cup are in the top five they will then have won two entries into European competitions. That is not allowed.
Their place goes to the sixth placed team.

This season the League Cup will be won by either Chelsea or Man City. If Man City win they will give up the place they have won in The Uefa League for the place they have won in the Champions' League.
If Chelsea win and they finish 5th in the Premier League they will have won two places in the Uefa League - one for finishing 5th and one for wining the League Cup. They will give up one of those entries so the 6th placed team in the Premier League get a place in the Uefa League.

We will then have 6 places taken in the Uefa league.

The final place will be given to the winners of the FA Cup.
Again, if the winners of the FA Cup have already won a place in European competition their place for winning the cup goes to the 7th place team in teh league. If the Winners of the cup are not in the top 6 then they will take the Uefa League place. (It used to be that the runners up won the Uefa league place rather than the team that finished 7th, but that no longer happens).

    Summary

    Top 4 Champions League
    5th Uefa League
League cup winners - Uefa League
FA Cup winners - Uefa League.

If League Cup and FA Cup are won by tops 5 teams the teams that finished 6th and 7th get Uefa League place.

So if Watford managed to overtake Chelsea to finish 6th but Chelsea win the league cup and Millwall win the FA Cup, the team that finished 6th would not qualify for Europe.

If we both lose against the top 6 and win the rest then we beat Wolves at the vic Then is will go down to goal difference .It could be that close But i think we will get 7th or 8th

Likely with the fixtures the way they are we will initially drop away a bit but then close the gap again and the home fixture against Wolves will be an electric atmoshere match and likely to have a huge bearing on the final positions.

It may also be a pre-curser to a cup final with them as well!

If Millwall/ Brighton/ Palace or us were to reach final against a Champions league placed team ( either Manchester team) they/we would get the FA Cup place. Also if big if....Chelsea or Aresnal won Uefa league they would qualify for Champions league freeing up another potential Uefa place further down the league.

Looking at the fixtures again, I hate to say it, but, they do favour Wolves.

No, if we were runners up in the cup we would not get the space.

When CP were in the final they did not get the place.

Countries are only allowed a maximum of seven European spots. If a country gets five Champions League places, the top four plus the winners of the Champions League who do not finish in the top four, only two places are available in the Uefa League.
