Listening to the game today I got the impression that our overall performance was somewhat improved which leads me to my question.

Based on what he saw today do you think he will have some targets, hopefully midfield/defence, in mind to be possible incomings for next week. Remember that we did have some players unavailable for various reasons and SOD will bear that in mind before acting.

However the transfer window close is not that far away. To all at Bristol City, please remember the problems have been created by your previous inaction and now is the time to redeem yourselves in the eyes of the supporters. None of this is down to Sean so please support him in a positive way.

Well the way I look at it, Is there are NOW signings and summer signings.

The now signings are 2 Centre Backs and a Centre Midfielder. We can make do with what we have plus these signings to see us out.

The summer signigns will be a new GK, RB, CB, CM, LM and depending if alberts still here a RM, These are the signings that will replace what we have now as its obvious a overhaul is needed in the summer.

We will need a GK as heaton won't sign and gerken wont be good enough regardless or what league we're in
Foster will be a great back up RB/LB but don't think he's consistent enough to have that Starting RB position. Providing we bring in 2 new CBs this window we will need a 3rd with one of the current CB as a 4th choice because that's where they belong. We're now short of wingers, We have 2! Adomah and Anderson and we are very likely to lose Adomah so we will probably need to get 2 on each side in the summer Definitely need a new CM in the summer as well as now. A defensive one for now and a creative player in the summer.

So to answer your question yes he needs to bring in players. 2 CB and a CDM if we are to have any hope of staying up this year. Then at least 5-6 in the summer.

    Next years starting line up

    ------------------------New GK
    New RB --------New CB-------New CB-----------Cunningham
    Albert(new rm?) Kelly----------New CM--------------New LM
    -----------------Baldock------------Davies---------------------

    Subs
    Gerken
    Foster
    New CB
    Skuse
    New CM
    Anderson
    Taylor

SOD comment was....about bringing in more....

Bristol is not a popular club and is at the bottom of the division...I am trying to build confidence and to answer your question would not be fair

Why on earth would anyone in their right mind want to join a club at the bottom of the league. Best start signing players for League 1 me thinks.

It's almost time to plan ahead for next season and for SOD to assemble a squad with the right mental and physical attitude to get us straight back up at the first attempt should relegation come along. I think that is achievable.

I would certainly sell Albert if the right offer comes along, apparently a host of clubs from the Prem and Championship are looking at him, and invest the money into a proper defence and a creative midfielder with the funds.

I am with you angelic but when it comes to preparing for League 1 I'm on a different page because I want us to survive where we are now. May not be possible but let's not give up hope.

As for Albert, I think we should sell him on but can we move him in this transfer window when he's down in sunny Africa playing in the annual Afican Cup of Nations, which is nothing more than a warm break from their cold weather games back in Europe. Ticks me off when we employ players, no matter how good they are, who disappear for a month in Jan to play in this tournament.

EUFA should step up and say that teams will not allow their players to attend this tournament unless it is only every 4 years and during the off-season. Sorry but that is a big beef with me, and how important would Albert be right now in the eyes of most City supporters instead of being away. What if he gets injured down there?

Sell him now and get players who will be in a Bristol City shirt for the entire season and not take a 4-5 week vacation in the middle.

Thanks for setting up my little rant there angelic and let's all hope that Sean saw what needs to be fixed yesterday, and has the footballing acumen to get in some better players this week, or we may be totally screwed and on our way down to where you said.

DM has said that his remit was to halve the wage bill for the start of next season.
It sounds odd, but on that basis we may be better off in League 1 and re-building with a young hungry squad

As for Albert - this is a FIFA tournament, so FIFA should pay his wages while he is unavailable for us

I don't see why we should pay his wages, if indeed we do, and it just seems like a ludicrous situation for clubs under severe financial constraints. I don't suppose we can get a credit for these expenses under the new FFP regulations?
