Just thought I´d cut in here to say If it has to be an ´old boy´, Then Malky´s the best by quite a long way As we hope for a ´Premier League ahoy´ Don´t forget he´s done it before As recent as one year ago, He managed promotion and so an encore Should not be beyond him, you know So the reasoning, it does seem sound If it is him, I can understand, Of all of the names that were bandied around His will do well for the job in hand I know some will remember Gunn And his less than successful reign, But Stringer D. has proved that it can be done For us still in Memory Lane. OTBC
I don't think Gunn had much experience with being a manager where as Malky now do and I think he will do well (hopefully).
It certainly looks a "done deal" RBF, not my first choice, but if it is he who takes the reins, he will have my full support for as long as he is with us!
Hello Dave, don´t think there´s honestly very much to choose between the 3 who´ve been seriously linked to the job, I was just concerned they might have fallen for giving it to Adams, which fortunately doesn´t seem likely now, wonder whether he´ll get any sort of coaching role, or whether he´ll be back to the youth team.
Whoever takes over as manager, hope he brings you back up at first attempt. We miss you already. Good luck.
Who would be your first choice Dave? I personally cannot fault the decision if it is Malky, he ticks every box as far as I'm concerned
Although I don't like him as a person, I feel Lennon would have got the best out of the players, plus much more likely Snoddy and Hooper would want to stay, but Malky will get my full support!
The Snoddy/Hooper staying or leaving thing, is slightly worrying me too Dave, but whether Lennon coming or not would completely prevent them leaving, we can´t tell. Might be mistaken, but I thought I read somewhere that Bellamy was saying that Malky soon got the respect of the Cardiff players, well if so, anyone who can get Bellamy´s respect, gets my vote.
As long as we don't play space invader which is what it seemed like we were trying to do most of the season
Good stuff RBF. I must admit to have been hoping for Lennon, but if it's to be Malky, then so be it. He's not Gunn, and he's not Adams (good bloke, but, errm, no). He ticks a couple of boxes, being both a player I admired when he was here, and also a manager with a fair bit of experience, so it seems churlish to be disappointed. I'll certainly be right behind him (as indeed I was with Hughton - it's what you do).
