.. our players will have had a good long break while many othe PL sides would have had key players involved in the Euros? Add to that the stability at Saints when contrasted with a number of other clubs who have been hit by management changes. It would also seem from rumours that Nigel is looking to recruit a talented young players with lots of promise who will only get better and better. It is going to be a very exciting season.
I think it will be an advantage as Nigel and his team lay careful plans to make the Saints team peak at the right time. After their preseason they arrived fitter in body and spirit and started at a run. The plan seems to involve a few selected games aimed only at fitness and preparation with the result only secondary. I may be proved wrong, but I don't think NA/NC will accept invitations to prestige tournaments that serve no positive purpose to our development.
where is pre-season this year? off to the land of chocolate again- please come to colombia, play 2800 metres for a month and running for 90 minutes will be a piece of piss
Continuity is massively important. We want to hope that we don't get a difficult start in the fixtures because that could ruin it.
We can only hope that we get special dispensation to be relegated to League One and thus enjoy our fixtures with such as Yeovil, Plymouth, Walsall etc. Those are the games! Football, played end to end. UTS!
