So january 2011 we were linked heavily with chris smalling, only for united to come in and snatch him from our grasp.

Summer 2011, we are linked quite heavily with a move for phil jones, only for united to come in and snare him from our grasp from nowhere.

F**cking hell wenger will you please stop being so slow! We've now, what looks like, missed out on 2 top english youngsters!

We don't need anymore young centre backs, I'd rather spend the reported 17mill on Gary Cahill than the 16mill on Phil Jones. Whereas, United do need younger players because Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra and Wes Brown are no spring chickens.

I would say there's a difference between his usual unknown out of the blue youngsters and a genuine talent that could easily be used next season? But clearly you don't agree :) gahhhh.

I don't get what people want.
We want experience, but we're unhappy Phil Jones is signed.
We want tall players to join the team but we want parker as a DM
We want a Centre Back who can organise the defence, but everyone says Verm can do that
We want Arshavin to leave cos he's lazy, but want unproven (in the premier league) young Miachichi's/Alverez's as a replacement, even though people are calling for experience

A lot of our fans are either vey confused or very fickle, cos these are only some of the examples!!!! :O

Some people just want to be angry for the sake of it.

I was merely quoting some things I have seen people posting on here. I could go find out who they are, but, to be frank, I really wouldn't want to <ok>

All of our CBs are at a good age. Koscielny and Vermaelen are both 25 and Djourou is 24. They will only get better.

I wouldn't mind Bartley coming in for Squillaci though.

Phil Jones has shown he is a good young player. But as said, we do not need an expensive kid. We need experience.
Jones isn't first choice CB at Blackburn and yet some people think he is the answer to our problems??

For Man Utd it makes sense, Johnny Evans has not been impresive this season, Ferdinand is nearing the end. Plus Jones can help their weak point, midfield.

Also agree with the thoughts about Scott Parker on here. He is a decent player, a very very good player for a team struggling. but good enough to take Arsenal to the next level? No chance. Same with Samba.

Phil Jones is decent. Gary Cahill would be better for us.

However for £17 Million we could probably get Neven Subotic or Matt Hummels from Dortmund both of which are truely WORLD CLASS young defenders.

Plus Manchester is relatively close to where he currently is at, Blackburn so it's not too much of a culture shock.
