providing we are competing for and near the play offs, i think town can hold onto most of their supporters. i smell a new air of optimism in the club. things are happening where they were not before. the most promising thing for club support is the massive amount of new housing at mousecroft lane, oxon and big development at otely rd. all this gives me confidence the town is growing in a big way and there could well be a long term spin off for the club, especially if it is used as a social hub, utilising the bars and other areas for regular events. i would love to see the club develop a heritage centre with stand up photographs of former town great players. visits could be arranged for say a fiver to visit behind the scenes at the club in conducted tours of the board room, offices, dressing rooms, silver cupboard with rodington dairies silver tops. fund raising at the club has to take off to supplement income. our youth is coming through, but when did we last sell a player for hard cash? was it a youth gk to everton for £250k a few years back. any way enough of my ramblings. floreat salopia!
I think that average attendances will not fall at all if we are competitive near the top of League 2. Sometimes you have to speculate to accumulate and the biggest signal the club can send out will be if two decent strikers are signed - we must hit the ground running and cannot afford to be held hostage to the whims and fancies of other clubs in the loan market.
agree entirely. will rw splash out on 1 striker, let alone 2. new ceo has to find ways for the stadium to pay for itself. cannot all fall on directors pockets.
We need at least three strikers on the books. Bradshaw is yet to commit so they shoukd be talking to at least two to bring in and hopefully a lot more.
