We'll be playing one of the top teams in the league today. If we want to be serious, and taken seriously by others, about promotion then this is a team we need to match. Personally, I think this game will define the rest of our season. COYH Ps 2-1 city win and a play off spot at the end of the season!
I don't think it will. Too much can be placed on games at the top. Look at the prem - Man Utd got their arses kicked by City - but would you say their season is now "defined" and the title is over? All of the top teams are defined by the points they drop. When you play each other something has got to give. West Ham could beat us, and draw the next five, we could lose and win the next five - and it's obvious who's having the better season. This game is very dramatic, but it's no season definer - no individual three points are. If we get to February, and are failing in every attempt vs. top-6 opposition, that would be season defining.
The only time you can truly get a season decided is in the final game or two. True it gives us a chance to catch West Ham and gives them a chance to pull away, but considering we've both drawn with Bristol City this season, you can see how easily either team could make those points up.
