I have a feeling that the Ayala ,Whitbread CB pairing is the best formula that Lambert has tested. West Brom are a decent side but i think we may nick this one 1 zero today.......OTBC
This is Norwich City we're talking about - we're more likely to keep our first clean sheet at home to Man Utd. Would be lovely to do it today though, especially if we nick a goal or two, as West Brom are below us. Also, if we lose today WBA will be the first team in 2 1/2 seasons to do the double over us.
Obviously that stat will disappear at some point this season, but I get the feeling it won't go today.
The more we keep thinking about clean sheets the more likely it is we will concede in the first 5 mins ha ha. If they have not scored with 5 mins to go then I will start believing.
From BBC site West Brom will check on the fitness of Gareth McAuley and Jonas Olsson (both calf), Jerome Thomas (groin), and Paul Scharner (Achilles). Youssouf Mulumbu (groin) and Shane Long (back) will also be assessed, but Zoltan Gera, Steven Reid and Chris Brunt are all out. Norwich goalkeeper John Ruddy is back in the squad after missing their FA Cup tie due to the birth of his daughter. Defender Marc Tierney is back in training following a groin injury.
Clean sheet I doubt it but would love to beat WBA as always disliked them especially since losing to them in the cup via that fantastic Cyril Regis goal . I can remember as a 14 year old attending my first away fa cup tie being full of hope and devastated when we lost. Beating them twice in two weeks would rid me of my bad dreams
AM surprised to read this though and hopefully it will continue West Brom will kick-off at The Hawthorns looking for their first goal in 275 minutes of league action!
Just a personal opinion but I feel that three points today would pretty much seal survival this season. We would be on 28 and I think 36 will be enough this year.
Got a horrible feeling we will have a pen awarded against us today as we have gone a while with out one?
It's going to come at some point, so why not WBA? In years gone by, stats like would have had me convinced we'd conceed a hatfull. It was the City way, wasn't it? If a side hadn't won in 12, they'd be certain to beat us. If their striker hadn't scored all season, we'd know what to expect. But this is the new Norwich, the Norwich that can win an FA cup round, the Norwich that picks up points over Christmas, the Norwich that can laugh in the face of other teams stats. That said, we'll probably conceed.
..... this is one game i'd be happy with a boring 0-0 draw, just to get the clean sheet monkey off our backs.
That was exactly how I felt Exile. I took into consideration all of those facts then concluded that another one far outweighed all of those - If Norwich do not keep a clean sheet today it will be the longest since the start of a season since Sheffield United's 26 game streak back in 1975/76!!!
Atfernoon all, looking forward to the match, wheres the usual yankie match thread?? Right, ive been saying we are going to get a clean sheet for weeks now soooo, naa Norwich are going to concede a few today, maybe three or four. Come on reverse psychology WORK!!! haha
