Living with a Charlton fan certainly has its ups and downs and is quite often accompanied by bad language and broken miscellaneous items!! I haven't really been keeping an eye over your summer progress, but have seen that you've brought in numerous amounts of players.

Just wondering what your thoughts are on promotion hopes for the forth coming season?? It was a shame last season that we didn't get to play you at all, as it's a fixture that I personally relish!! Would love to see you come up this season :emoticon-0100-smile

    Welcome, Cheese.

Are you a Palace fan, then?

Chris Powell needs to learn how to be a manager really quick if this season is going to be a success. But hopefully all the new signings will yield better performances for him than last year's lot because he signed them and has instilled in them his ideals and plans from the off.
I am quietly confident, though, and think we will be up there come the end of the season.

    Leeds fan to be precise!

One thing I really respect about all the Charlton fans I know, is there respect for Chris Powell. The evidence last season suggested that results went downhill after Phil Parkinson left, but your right with keeping the faith, he'll come good. I just wish Leeds fan could be satisfied as much with Grayson!

After the close run for the play-offs last season, I am surprised any Leeds fan would be unhappy with Simon Grayson. He has done a fine job with your team and I should think Leeds can only go on to better times under his management.

As for Powell, it was only the fans' genuine affection for him that stopped any wholesale calls for his head. Whether that would carry over into this season should things go wrong remains to be seen......

Hello Cheese, welcome to the forum. Hows our old boy doing for you on the wing ? Also note that Mervyn Day is now your chief scout. Poor you !

Thanks Rifleman... Lloyd's been very unlucky to be fair. He started off like a man on fire, scoring 3 in our first 4, or something along those lines. Then he got injured and was subsequently replaced by Gradel, who came back from suspension. Of course Gradel goes on to score 18 from the wing and Lloyd doesn't get a look in. From what I've seen, he's a very useful squad player, but isn't quite good enough to really challenge the likes of Gradel and Snodgrass for a starting role. Bit like Bambi on ice.

Of course if Gradel goes as is heavily rumoured (paper talk though!) he might get more of a look in.

And Mervyn? Well if he was responsible for the signing of Bessone, you can have him back!!! (along with Bessone, have him for free!)

Surprised you guys haven't made any moves in the transfer market yet. You skint again? Surely you're not far off a Premier-league push?

Bates is being tight with the cash, so it looks like we're relying on free transfers and loans. It doesn't show much ambition, but the strategy has helped with making us a club out of debt, whilst turning over profits. Doubled edged sword really.
