I am actually watching the Spurs game, I have more interest in this match than the Manchester Derby. For me these so called super games are overblown, even tap in's get the biased and snobbery commentators jizzing in their pants and saying crap like how they are the best goals of all time.
I watched the Spurs Cardiff game all the way through and Cardiff fans will admit themselves that they got murdered for the whole 90 mins! I think spurs had 29 shots at goal with 12 on target and Cardiff had about 3 possession was 64 % to spurs as well which made it pretty comprehensive stuff. I think Spurs were woeful in front of goal but it doesn't help that the home team are too frightened to play and put 11 men behind the ball every time they lose it, which was a lot. If Cardiff had played more football they would have got something from this game, when they threatened the spurs goal they did well but it wasn't very often they got that far. The best player for Cardiff was Kim who seems to be everything Ki isn't ! he runs ,tackles ,tracks back and makes skilful passes and runs , the other Cardiff players like Gary medal and caulker look very over rated in terms of price, considering how **** dawson and vertonghen was for spurs im staggered that caulker couldn't get a game there! Cardiff are going down the road of being hard to beat with everyone behind the ball, they need more ambition if they want to stay in the prem league, I think they are good enough but a lot will depend on how they set up tactically
To be fair, their thread was only about the first couple of weeks....and they were right, they got a steal on us initially.
They had all intentions to keep it going, but I suspect theirs will eventually disappear and ours will be around until 2083
I watched the spurs game and have to say Marshall in goal for Cardiff was on top form. If it wasn't for him is could of been closer to a cricket score.
MM parking a bus today was a win/win situation. If they stole a point, they could call it fortress Cardiff effect. Lose and they can say it was Spurs. The reality will be apparent over the next few weeks when they have to show ambition at home. This league can slip away quite quickly at times and plucky defensive teams rarely prosper. Last minute goals can really hurt a team at times and MM has upcoming games he should be targeting. They are 6 pointers already! We are looking good though
yes their keeper was outstanding yet again, shades of Vorm in his first season with us early on !! everything he goes for he stops , everton should have won against them too but for the keeper and a dodgy ref so I think the Cardiff lot know what is required in this league now
agree swim. Against Everton and Spurs they got hammered but the scoreline doesn't reflect this ...yet ! I think they are good enough to stay up if they show the ambition to play football and core goals and not just live off mistakes from the opposition. They had a good win against Man city so you would think there would be a bit more confidence about them. These games are the no pressure games and it should be easier to play your football not harder. It will be interesting to see how they cope against their equals ,meaning the teams that are of similar level . WBA ,Swans,Norwich,Stoke,Southampton and the like are bloody hard games that need to be must wins at this level, I don't see Cardiff having enough craft to worry these sides, though it is clear to see they wont be hammered either, not getting beat seems to be the way forward.
29 to 6 was it , hmm.. that is a fair hammering fair play. Cardiff can survive in this league for sure but by being solid/difficult to beat it will become a long season. we all know how world class players undo all that planning with one moment of magic, think bale last year, tevez and van persie etc,etc its going to be interesting to see if the formula works for malky, he will also go through players by playing this way as running around closing down the other team is harder than controlling posession
Every team goes through a honeymoon period when they first come up and i was expecting theirs to last a bit longer than it has. Spurs were very poor today and still should have scored 4-5 goals....cardiff would have mugged spurs if they had got a draw...
Cardiff's problem is creating chances, they've had just 10 shots on target all season. In comparison we've had 15 just in our last 2 games.
