Posting on our forum not the 82 er's so not to WUM our red friends If the do go down who thinks they will enter administration to clear debts ready for next years financial restrictions? With such a high wage bill they would need to be brutal to make the 55% rule. Before the 82er's ask why i am so interested in their club, well i am interested in our red brothers demise as they were when we last got relegated
as long as lansdown is there, i dont think administration will happen. im sure if he left them at any point he would wipe out their debts too as wouldnt want to leave them in the ****. just guessing though. im not too sure about the 55% rule for league 1 if that exists yet. we have it in league 2 and the championship will have a similar rule from next season but no idea about league 1 (if they get relegated). it may financially benefit them to go down if the financial rules in the championship is more harsh.
I thought it was 55% for L1 & L2 and 65% for championship starts next season. I think it will suit them in L1 but they still need to lower their wage build or face a embargo. To be honest the system seems a bit stupid and its an extra punishment for a team getting relegated from such a tough division like the championship.
They won't go bust with SL backing them. I hate to say it but if they go down it will actually do them good. They'll regroup and go straight back up
I'm serious Lan, if you hold on to the key players you'll go back up. **** all to do with me but in your position I'd take relegation to have a chance of a bit of glory next season.
So would I, but look what happened to coventry when they went down, and even your fine selves.. it's not guaranteed one bit we'd shoot back up.. and ask sheffield UTD how hard it is to get out of league 1
True but you got some financial clout as long as SL stays interested. You've been in relegation fights for 3-4 seasons now(like us). What would you rather have this time in the season, a relegation fight where you are now or fighting for promotion in League 1 ?
I don't see them going straight back up. If Wolves and/or Sheffield Wednesday come down they are 'bigger' clubs than City and will have larger crowds to generate income. If Peterborough come down and they keep Ferguson Jnr his dad will give him some good loanees to help him out. Clubs coming up from L2 will have momentum, and there are some clubs in L1 now regrouping for next season...Preston for one. I reckon City's attendance will drop too. Could be a hard road back................
may be hard to get out of league 1, we found it easy by the way but just the wrong end, but if you dont go straight back up then like sheff utd, you will have more better days than not and will be up there in and around the top bunch. even if you dont go straight back up, a top 10 i think would be a good season for you. but it all depends on what players you keep. albert and baldock are the only real players people in my work place talk about being your better players. i guess if you keep them then you got a good chance. these people in work also say if you had kept cisse(??) then they doubt you be where you are now. if SOD stays, (you know more than me with this as i dont know if he is like ward having a deal just to the end of the season) i think has the class to get you up anyway but its all a big IF that you go down anway. you have a great home record under SOD so if you keep that up, that might be enough on its own.
We lose a lot of players in the summer due to contracts running out. Its about 8-10 players and they are the big earners. Heaton Gerken Carey M.Wilson J.Wilson Nytanga Elliott Skuse Stead There is no way we would go bust if we went down. In fact we will need to spend money on about 6 players to even have a full squad.
great! which one of these will we end up with then as we usually get someone. suprised if you get rid of carey. he could still do a job in league 1 couldnt he? you must be gutted about marv?? what if he comes to us, would you still love him? yes i know he wouldnt come but if he did??
One thing about Elliott and other blokes like him - what's the point of getting so many tattoos that you can't actually see what any of them are anymore?
Yes Albert, Baldock, Cunningham are all our more better players.. But Alberts lost interest and 99% sure will be sold this summer, Baldock will get 20 goals a season in league 1 whether he wants to stay or not i'm not so sure.. And about SOD, touch and go whether he will stay or not, if another champ club comes in for him (leeds maybe) he'll be off.. but he doesn't seem the type to just jump off a sinking ship And Wards only got a contract to the end of the season? Surely you'll give him an extension, doing a terrific job for you
albert was linked to palace wasnt he? so that might happen, may depend on what division the fall in. you must do your best to keep SOD because he is a very good manager. as you know we have gon through a lot of managers and his name always popped up as a contender for the job and rumour was he was close to coming to us at 1 point but couldnt agree terms. doubt that is true though but i would hav ebeen delighted ward only joined to the end of the season as a new deal depended on what league we be playing in. now it looks certain that we be safe, im sure a new deal be done asap. i hope.
exactly one of the reasons why massives new thread is still there and why his old thread was there for a period of time before he himself ruined it.
