New Sky deal plus Pep means we may turn the tide. It has been shameful that the self-styled best league in the world has been snubbed time after time after time by the likes of Ronaldo Neymar Suarez Muller Bale etc ... Will we start getting, and keeping, the best players now
Why would Messi or Ronaldo want to come here? They both play for clubs in the top 3-4 of the world, earn hundreds of millions, have a great lifestyle in two of Spain's greatest cities, etc. Why change all that to freeze your bollocks off in England getting kicked up in the air by Shawcross or Cattermole?
And this will forever be the problem. The big two in Spain will always be able to pay the top players enough to keep them in Spain. It may not be as much as they would get at City or United but it will always be enough.
It will be the lure of more money and Pep. Only £ity could possibly afford to so shamelessly breach the FFP rules to get Messi and/or Naymar in. Neither Chelsea nor United would stand a chance. That is why Pep chose £ity as the club to go to, because he's no mug, and knows that only the Arabs with more money than dignity could possibly afford to pay what it is going to take to get these players in. Will it make our league more exciting? Only if Messi and Naymare can withstand the punishing schedule and stay free of injury. Let's face it, they won't be the first world class players who have bombed in the Prem. Not saying they will, but equally there is no guarantee that they will succeed.
I think messi can handle the odd winter midweek fixture at the likes of Stoke and Man Utd. Maybe not Chelsea though. We are his nemesis thus far
Chances are you'll be in the Championship from next season so it won't be an issue for Messi unless City draw you in one of the cups. Anyway, you're so excited about Pep joining City that it's inevitable you will drop Arsenal and start supporting them. Chelsea are just a dim and distant memory for you (September).
The problem that Pep is going to face is getting £ity's players to want to play for £ity as opposed for themselves. Sure, if they get in Messi or Ronaldo, you'd expect either of those players to carry the team, like Goofy did for 'Pool or Bale did for us, but it won't be ideal. What Pep needs to do, long before he starts attempting to bring in any mega-stars, is to get the current crop of mercenaries to start playing as a team, something that successive managers at £ity have singularly failed to do. The thing about Barca, is that they play as a team. It's easy for someone of Messi's qualities to perform week in and week out at the kinds of levels he has achieved throughout his career there, because Barca play as a team. £ity don't. How long would Messi be able to maintain that level of performance playing with the rancid mercenaries they have there at the moment?
If you are a happy person and actually enjoy football you can't help but be excited about Pep coming to England. Jose at United would be an exciting counterpoint too. Some (obviously unhappy) people just prefer moaning about football
You've not been a very happy person recently! You're only happy when Chelsea/Leicester/Arsenal/City (delete as appropriate depending on who you're supporting at the time) are winning! As it goes, I think Pep will be good for the PL. Rather like LVG and Klopp I think he's also in for a surprise as it's a way more competitive league than anything he, like the other two, is used to. It does seem inevitable that we will end up with Mourinho which will mean that, as usual, football will belong to Manchester.
Poor OLD Blueman! Am I right in thinking you got hit with the ban hammer today? I did advise you to stop prodding at Chief but as ever you were too stupid to listen to good counsel. You'll have to post on the Chavski board now. Unfortunately you'll be on your own as the rest of the Chavettes are still camped on the United board!
And it's suppose to be punishment? I'm gutted Stan. I stood up to you lot and him, but poor old Chief wigwam head finally lost it eh? Knew he would. You probably asked him to ban me anyway. I'll never listen to anything a cowardly little twat like you has to say. I'm sure the plastics board will be as crap as ever though. Run along now Noel.
