In view of the lack of news from the club thoughts wander....... The pitch has been in a state for a few years but nothing compared to its current condition. What if?????? contractors stopped working due to a power struggle and bills stopping being paid? I hope that theres a lot of rubbish flying about re. cashflow but do not know and even if there are no cash problems how tight a timeline is it to get a consolidated grass surface to play on?

    WO 17th May

"Watford claim the pitch will cost around £1m and we understand it will be paid for in a few installments."

    WO 31st May

" The next phase in the redevelopment of Vicarage Road could begin shortly, with the owner also revealing that he would like to start work on the south-west corner as early as next week, as long as the relaying of the Vicarage Road pitch is at such a stage that workmen can gain access to the building. "

Any news on the SW Corner starting?

I don't see how the owners would let the pitch not be paid for.

Norway: it's not a what if. We are at home to Wycombe on the first day of the season.

That would cost too much. ;)

NNw as I understand it we could ask wycombe to host the fixture as its a cup game .
I dont know what happens if the pitch isnt ready by the time of the first league fixture! If there is a power struggle is going on ,then it is not impossible that this could become an issue! Unlikely but not impossible.

The FA have clamped down on that sort of thing after a particularly high profile instance in the FA Cup a few years back. I think it was between Newcastle and a southern club below the Conference, but I could be wrong.

Could easily use St Alban's for a bit, why not if things go nipples in the air on this one.....could be unlikely but definately no out of the reaches of madness in footy.

If it was already completed, I'd say Barnet Copthall.

I cant see this being a problem, from the sounds of it a takeover will happen soon and I'm sure the payments will be sorted

We ought to have a webcam a la Springwatch to watch the grass grow - it's not like anything else is happening at the club at the moment.

Bazs pen is in the safe. This is why he can not find it.
